Enjoy Andre Brooks

He's grown in to an outstanding player. Him on the right, Hamer on the left, it's a joy to watch proper talented footballers being allowed to showcase their talents.
The ironic thing is that so late in the day if we we can Phillips and Peck or Phillips and Riedewald they can be even more effective because they’ll have that defensive solidity behind them.

Yes true but as I said in a previous text we need more in the way of team work to be more productive.

Since Nov time he’s come on so much , got a lot more confidence now & linking up well now with Seriki down the right .
Come the summer & the parachute payments stop they’ll be a lot of interest around the likes of him , Peck & Seriki & we’ll inevitably have to cash in to balance the books .

Sorry - we need to inject a bit of the Wednesday over inflation here & not talk down our players value. If he’s going in the Summer - the narrative needs to be the starting price is £20 to £25 million - given his age and as a very exciting attacking player - we must not start undervaluing him.

I agree through - no chance he’s here next season. Think he’ll be sold along with Hamer & Peck to fill the parachute payment black hole.

Andre has always been talented and he’s always produced the odd top performance

However he’s now on a run of looking a huge talent for SIX consecutive matches. His attitude seems to have changed too, he’s always worked hard but now he looks so confident, like he knows he belongs.

A few said last year he was a guaranteed a pro career but probably at league 1/ league 2 level.

However this season he’s making a mockery of that modest prediction and showing signs he might be able to play at PL level.

Still a long way to go though but he’s a contender for being our player of the season to date and I’m really pleased for him.

He came out of yesterday's Shoutbox well with "Cooper shit""Bindon Shit" etc. etc.

The worst Andre received was "Wilder change it and give Arblaster and Brooks a fucking bollocking".

Compare the Brooks who first broke through - when not that young - to the Brooks of now. It's night and day. He was a 1 in 4 sort of performer last season. Now he's more like 3 in 4 and when he's on it there's far more end product

It makes you wonder how many other young players could make the grade if given enough games

I don't think we'll lose him in the summer as things stand but am near certain we'll lose Seriki. Which would then give Brooks a challenge or possibly prompt his desire to leave

Problem is he'll only have a year left on his contract, that will affect his value

Problem previously was he never got a decent run of games and it was clear he wasn't first choice. Fuck we even had the woeful BBD there ahead of him last season.

Not a coincidence that he's playing regularly now and playing with confidence. Partly because wilder has had little other option but to play him regularly.

He's doing both sides of the game now and consistently. He comes off absolutely shattered every game which is a good sign. I think he'll continue to develop physically and be even better next season. Top man management to get him to this point.

You do realise Brookes is only 22!

Unplayable at times last night, their defence had no answer for him at all. My main worry is that as someone said on another thread he and Seriki have such an understanding now that you could imagine someone coming in with a double bid for both of them.

I hope we still have him next season, he's come on leaps and bounds, probably helped by having his best bud at right back where they've formed a great combination.

He seemed a bit lost last season and had games where he looked lethargic and didn't offer much but he's a different beast now he's found his position in the side and is scoring and creating goals while also offering more defensively than JRS did in that position last season.

If the owners have anything about them, they'd make sure that both Brooks and Seriki are here next season to help mount a promotion charge because we'd be a lot worse off without them and they'd probably be worse off without each other, at least in the short term.

£35M and we'll negotiate upwards.

Exactly that. Now he’s doing the things that previously he was inconsistent in. It’s not just being given a run that got him here, it’s the fact he’s learning and applying.

We all said in pre season he’d be a huge player this season. Taken some time and his old manager back but it looks like we were right

Hopefully selling Gus (don't want him to go, but I imagine he will) and Burrows, as well as getting the likes of Ings and Davies off the payroll will mean we're not as desperate to sell as we might have been.

We need to be extending their contracts sharpish, but have we left it too late again

I hope the club are working away at Seriki, Peck and Brooks in the background.
It'll be difficult to convince them, their agents will be in their ears but maybe something with a release clause that works for both parties could sway them?
