nice to see Jags, Walker and Cahill all play tonight and keep a clean sheet. even if it was backs to the wall at points. just needed lowton aswell and George long in goal in a few yrs maybe?

Yeah nice to see.
Shame we arnt their club team anymore. If only eh?
It may be a while before we end up with another player playing for England.

Always like watching paint drying when England play. Not bothered if they qualify or dont. Hate all the patriotic, bordering on xenophobic build up to world cups. Then wall to wall coverage over English thugs, just cos some drunk bloke threw a plastic chair. All just to draw every game 0-0, then get knocked out on penalties.

It was a good result..

...But let's be honest it were Shite. Can you imagine England playing the likes of Spain or Germany with that side..

Did you write this in a notebook in 1981 ready for the internet to be invented?

If i see one more "Cahill, Jags and Walker" comment...

Jags and Walker fair enough, but Cahill played 16 games for us and was, to my knowledge, never even linked to signing permanently.

Time to get over that one I think.

i thought we wouldnt stump up the fee?

My lawn hasn't been growing very well lately. Luckily I was able to watch it closely for a couple of hours tonight.

Great result for England, tough place to go. Did what was needed, now its two home games to secure the qualification. Some people don't understand the importance of the result last night. DONT LOSE. That is all they had to do. Even our Harry didnt understand, as a professional footballer surely he should? Maybe he's just thick too...image.jpg

For some the glass is always half empty, for others it's half full, I thank god mine is half full...( I pinched that from some body else, mind)

I bet what upset most was that the ex Blades three kept playing HOOFBALL !!!!

What upset me was that, yet again, exciting, entertaining league matches were sacrificed to assist a team that is routinely outclassed by so-called inferior teams. It achieves nothing.

I overheard someone mention the score today. If I hadn't, I wouldn't have troubled to find out.

Shouldn't messages about other football teams be stored elsewhere?

No I'm fairly certain that Villa made it clear that a permanent move was never on the table.

Pinchy, couldn't agree more mate, I hate international breaks, especially ones so early n in the season. One of the very few blessings of being in this League is that by and large we still play on international weekends.

total dullfest.. what is the thing with Ashley Young?? he is absolutely awful.. Ukraine winger looked a bit tasty ..the one that KW was trying to mark without any help from Walcott.. Dixon never mentioned that in his 'analysis'.. oh Walcott is a gooner.. coincidence??

super_pig spot on about Walcott, the man's decision making is woeful but that should detract from the fact that Walker had a poor game.

England's problem is that there is only one central midfielder capable of keeping possession under pressure: Jack Wilshere. Actually, only he and Rooney are capable of that.

I can't understand how Gerrard got man of the match against Moldova when I'm sure that along with his goal (a great finish) he continually misplaced 20 yard passes and don't even get me started on Frank Lampard; every one of his 100 caps is testament to the reason why England will not win an international tournament any time soon.

get off the fence and tell us what you really think!

This is the same Lamps who has scored double figures for the last 10 yrs or so from midfield and won virtually every club tournament there is?

Wilshire is a decent player but was crap on tues.

cant believe how good Walcott could be if he had a football brain.

Yes, the same Lampard. His goalscoring record is always brought up but how many does he score in the Champions League? You can't argue with that part of his game though; it's his use of the ball and speed of thought that I don't think are good enough.

Agree on Walcott. All the ingredients but no idea how to use them.

how many English players have scored regular goals in the champions league full stop?

his strength is goals, I can forgive other things he doesn't do so well as he's scored a fair few for England as well compared to most other midfielders
