Suppose it’s no surprise to anyone with how he’s performed this season, but 2 outstanding performances at centre half deputising for JOC this week.

I’m sure we were all shaking our heads in disbelief when trying to work out the side on Wednesday and just as confused seeing Stevens start as part of the back 3. How wrong we were. He was utterly sensational defensively in both games. 2 clean sheets well deserved in an unfamiliar role.

I think our JOC replacement might’ve already been at the club had he gone in the summer. And I can’t pay a bigger compliment than that.

What a player.

I thought he was awful for long periods of the 2nd half of last season. I couldn't believe we hadn't signed competition.

Now I think there's a chance hes a Premier League player next year, with or without United.

Something really rewarding about watching a player go up through the levels and adapt and improve ,the best example being Brian Deane
Felt like watching your own kid watching him go from gangly awkward lower division target man to england centre forward. Sometimes it's the players you least expect who make the step up and become solid consistent pro's

He was excellent last season but suffered after JOC started to have trouble with his achilles around Christmas time. JOC wasn't giving him the overloads that we saw in the first half of the season and Stevens got the blame for passing square and backwards when the options simply weren't there. He's continued his excellent form this season and has shown that he can adapt tactically. It's not the worst thing for us that he's played left centre half during the last two games, as it has given him a bit of a rest due to the less physically demanding nature of the new role.

He’s played fine all the way along. Just missed out when Coutts got injured more than any other player.

This is the Enda all those Portsmouth fans were raving about. I was wondering at times last season what we had signed but he's clearly comfortable now in either LWB or LCB. I know his stats last season weren't bad at all but for some reason when watching him with the naked eye he never seemed to really do it or fully realise his potential, now that's all changed.

Can’t disagree with this. Did he sign a new deal ? There was a few players in talks, can’t remember who they were, but no news since.

Hoping JOC will be back Saturday and Enda can resume the LWB role.

Form comes and goes,
But a players overall ability is somewhere in between his best game and his worst game, and how many of each he has

Enda is heavily involved in everything we do
Its like he hasn't got time to have a bad game

If we go up he could be a £20 million player but how would he fit in at another club that would expect him to act like a rigid defender every week

Yeah I thought he dropped off last season and at times was frustrating with his constant wasted deliveries.

He's been excellent this season.

All of which suggests the quality of coaching that Enda receives. Decision making is key to most decisions, and Enda's has improved considerably.

I think the introduction of Norwood helped him because Evans and Lundstram don't show anywhere near as often as Norwood does or Couttsy did before him.

But his delivery has improved massively which I thought was his a limiting trait for him. Would be interesting to compare his assists so far this season to last season...
