According to our very own stringer

Have we really got to the stage where it means "meh's" all round now when it comes to Stevens?
Incredible if you think back to the start of last season and we were worried one of the big boys might come sniffing for him.

Probably needs a mental and physical rest.

I'm struggling to remember a player of ours look so impressive for a couple of seasons and then for no apparent reason, have such a drop off.

Maybe JOC had more influence on him than we realise.

Is he injured ? All is said on the radio was that he was checked over after the match and it was decided not to take him to the next one , maybe because he,d played that crap ?

I’ve said it before and I will say it again, since Lockdown he plays like someone who used to be on performance enhancing drugs and has come off them. And he’s not the only one.

I know this hasn’t happened, because the players are tested for such things, but it does smack of a failure of conditioning and deficiencies in the training regimen.

Yes; I remember him making a shocking error in the 3-0 defeat against Newcastle and he hasn't gotten much better since.

We have a bit of an issue in the left-back area now. Stevens, Osborn, Lowe and Norrington-Davies will all be on our books next season as it stands. And Osborn is the only one entering the last year of his contract:

Osborn 2022
Stevens 2023
Lowe 2024
Norrington-Davies 2024

How did we end up with more left backs than midfielders?

Closely followed by Osborn.
He has loads of tenacity will run through brick walls for you etc. But in my opinion does not show enough on quality on the ball to play in midfield and is too short and tends to get dragged out if position to play LWB

Probably just doesn't fancy trapsing all the way to Qatar for a meaningless friendly.

Good - I won’t have to look at his ‘oh well I’m not really bothered’ expression every time he fucks up a cross

This ^^^

OK, some of our players have peaked. But they're still responsible for the very best times I've seen in my four decades. Respect is the least they deserve, even if we offload them in summer.
Free transfer helps transform mediocre team into premier league 9th place finish. Form drops off a cliff, stick the fucking boot in.

I suspect he might have asked for the break? He could probably use a rest.

he will do in the championship though, he's no world beater and can't cement a solid position, but he is a great utility man to have at that level, lots of my forest mates said he was their best player when he left - but was often scapegoated for being a sheep shagger (derby)

Reminds me of a better version of Monty but needs to start chipping in with goals!

Good shout. I’ve often thought of players influenced by those around them. Wayne Quinn, Curtis Woodhouse both played alongside Dane Whitehouse, a gifted player. Both left for million pound moves and subsequently drifted away quickly. Had to correct auto text a couple of times.. Dane Whitehouse was Dame Whitehorse!! Any other players misrepresented by auto correct?

Sheaf Island, May 2019. The whole pub singing the Enda Stevens song non stop for at least 10 minutes.

Some have short memories indeed. Always be a hero for me. He has been no worse than so many others since lockdown.
