Anybody thinking of buying Henderson something for Valentine's day.....Screenshot_20190209-092210_Google.jpg just an idea......

So it Jack o'Connell average as well? Because he fucked up for the 3rd which was much worse than the first 2 in my opinion. The 3rd was as easy as it comes for a defender no player on him all he has to do it control it and kick the fucking ball what's he do panics tries hitting it first time slices the fucking thing then let's McGinn take the fucking ball and cross it to the back post. Just because they have dropped a bollock doesn't mean they are average players. Henderson has pulled off some wonder saves and everyone in this club knows it yeah he is prone to a mistake every now and again but the kids fucking young and learning his way still. He has moved in a league since last season alone and will do the same this season more than likely. The kids a very good shot stopper and spilt 1 today and didn't get out for a corner and it cost us 2 goals another day mings would have missed and a defender would have got to the second when he parried it out and cleared the ball. It happens every now again to any team yeah its disheartening and disappointing but people have gone to the extremes, wasnt long ago people was saying we need to sign him no matter what now look at people. Happened the exact same last season with blackman when he went over o'Connell and dropped the ball it's the nature of a goal keeper unfortunately if you drop a bollock there it's a good chance it could lead to a goal and then people forgot all the good things they have done for us. Funny to read some of the comments really.
No O’Connell is an excellent player who has proved himself over almost 3 seasons. Henderson is an average goalkeeper who had a flash in the pan few good games and everybody jumped on the bandwagon like John Brayford a few years ago. And the third goal is on Henderson as well, he should be giving O’Connell a call there.

Maybe I’m being over critical being a goalkeeper myself, but that was disgraceful

How can you possibly say the 3rd is his fault not a chance in hell call or no call Jack should easily easily deal with that he is under no pressure at all. 95th min all he does it take the ball put it out and the ref blows the whistle simple as that can understand the first 2 was fuck ups but the 3rd wasn't his fault. I totally disagree I think Henderson has had some very good games for us and plays very well usually. He is a young lad and is prone to odd mistake most young lads are it's all part of the learning process. And also if your a better keeper than Henderson maybe you should get your self down to lane and get on a trial pretty sure if your an improvement on Henderson you could land your self a contract down at the lane.

Was that Henderson's personality and cockiness hitting a nerve with one of our players (Enda). Have to back Stevens in that instance, henderson needs to reign it in and hold his hands up after mistakes like that

Enda Stevens should look at himself for his part in the second.

Why was he arrogant tonight?

I’d argue complacent rather than arrogant. I think he switched off.

We did however get a bit of a mini-bar swing after a wayward shot first half that could carry that label. He’s a fun character Henderson but you cannot afford to switch off at this level. The Leeds game should have taught him that – it appears not to have done.

This post is painful to read. Henderson probably in the top three if we had a player of the season award before yesterday. One bad game and he’s average and Blackman is better. What a load of melodramatic bollocks, some of you can’t wait to get the daggers out. It’s same with all our players, Sharp was getting this kind of bollocks not long back, then Kieran Freeman although it’s probably his turn again soon.

Why we have to single players out I’ll never know, suppose it’s harder to hide as a keeper, a midfielder can make 2, 3 or 10 mistakes and nobody really notices but when a keeper does it, it usually ends in a goal against. Yesterday was frustrating as fuck, I almost threw my phone at the telly, and Henderson is feeling the brunt of it, rightly so. But to try and re-write history and claim he’s average or not good enough is complete and utter idiocy.

The irony of the thread title is the fact it was Enda Stevens getting this bollocks last season. As for the person calling Henderson a flash in the pan, you're betraying your lack of knowledge. He's been outstanding for the best part of two years now.

Did he switch off in the Leeds game or did he just scuff a clearance like Ederson, Alison and Kepa have this season - resulting in goals. Occupational hazard when you're a football team playing out from the back. One error a season resulting in a goal when playing from the back is good going imo. Especially for an extremely young goalkeeper.

He didn't switch off, he just fucked up, like most of us do occasionally although it seems the burger flippers who post on here never put a foot wrong.

At the time I thought it was just a simple mistake. Taken together I think it suggests some complacency. But this is a learning curve, and it’s a natural danger of getting young keepers in – we get a potentially quality player, but one that’s still very much developing.

He seems to have a strong character though, and I imagine will be back to normal for midweek.

Exactly; including the 70 million pound experienced goalkeepers. One fuck up with your distribution is an excellent record for a ball playing team. Before yesterday that, and the Stoke free kick was all the critics had. The free kick were the video footage shows the wall ignoring Henderson's instructions - for the hard of thinking

Exactly this, so bi-polar on here, worldbeaters to bin men in 60 seconds.

I always put my head above the parapet on this forum, so I'll do it again. I tipped Calvert Lewin, Brooks, Maguire, Lowton, Stevens, Baldock, Egan and Fleck for big things on this forum - to varying degrees of ridicule. I was delighted with the signings of Egan and Henderson after being very pessimistic in the summer before they signed. Here's my next prediction. Dean Henderson has the highest ceiling of any player currently on the first team books at Sheffield United, and will have the most successful career.

Sharp, Norwood, Stevens, O’Connell, Egan, Duffy and McGoldrick come way before Henderson in any talk of player of the season.

He's young and will learn more from last night than a hundred clean sheets

He's top.drawer but I bet my last he will go away and work his bollox off for himself and his career and for us and our promotion chances
