1. There have not been 6 better sides in the division than us.
2. Performances dictate results.
3. Our performances have warranted and deserved more points.
4. In order to progress, Coutts, Fleck and JOC HAVE to be retained.
5. Players will come, players will go, but the methodology used MUST remain a constant.
6. Ideally point 5 above would be under a CW/AK regime. If that is not to be, the new boy must ensure that the METHODOLOGY USED MUST REMAIN A CONSTANT.

There's 45 and a bit mins left yet!
Won’t change my view whatever happens.

We have underachieved. Bottom line.

Keep the nucleus together, including the gaffer, fine tune here and there and we won’t go far wrong.

Based on whats happening today I would suggest that we couldn't handle the pressure. At the start of the season when we got off to a flier there was no great expectation and no pressure, it was a free hit. Then Coutts went, we still had games within our grasp but panic set in even when we were ahead and couldn't see games out. In short, we bottled it. Then today, bingo, no pressure and we're back to where we were in November. The big difference? Coutts of course, but we all knew that deep down anyway when he got crocked.

Points 2 & 3 are contradictory

and the championship isn't all that. ok it's dog eat dog but apart from a few notable exceptions (wolves, fulham) the standard isn't much higher than League one.

7. In order for us to progress even furthererer Clarke has to go . He's fucking shit

I predicted at the start of the season that we would finish 10th. I also said elsewhere that it would be about 70 points.

Skills.

Top ten!, all I was hoping for, happy and disappointed, cos I know are good enough to be top 6, I do think this boardroom shit has cost us this year, we need stability, if it weren't for their childish shit, we'd be looking forward to Wembley this year!!

1 need strength in depth to succeed in the championship.

We didn't have enough unfortunately

Goalie. CH. 2 Forwards. Ideally a lwb. Don't lose any key players.

If we do that we'll be ok

Predicted mid table & turning a few big names over ...Manager & players gave it their best & 4 points off you know who ...

PS - dipped out on £270 today had Wolves & Fulham in 2 auto promotion places £10 @ 27/1 ... hey ho .. bar tender

Ignoring posts 1-3, which are contradictory nonsense. I agree with the rest, especially about having a consistent mantra/ methodology . it'll be key to success in the future.

This season we've proven: That we can handle this league just fine, and that our attacking style hasn't caused us to be torn apart. But it's also shown a nativity, an inability to 'win ugly' and how we lack on the field leadership. We are such a confidence based team, we need someone on the pitch to give us a lift when things don't go out way.

Overall it's an excellent base to build from, we need to keep the core of the team and add a bit of quality and competition, especially in both boxes. Whether we can do this remains to be seen. But there are a hell of a lot of positives to take from this season. We won at Hillsborough and at Leeds, we've watched player grow (both young and old), and we've been entertained.

For the club and the fans, Wilder has given us exceptional value for money.

I agree with everything that the OP to says, wholeheartedly. There is absolutely no way we have been the 10th best side in the division, the table belies performances - there are not 9 better sides, more entertaining teams than ours. There's also no way we are only 5 places better than Wednesday. But, performances are not results and there are too many examples of us not getting what we deserved from games this season, I don't need to list them again. We were 6 points off and there were ample opportunities to get those 6 points.

That said, the season has been a resounding success beyond all our expectations. We now need to keep the management.

UP THE BLADES!

I think it's been a great first season back in the championship.
We've played some cracking football and that's down to wilder/knill.
WILDER MUST STAY!!!. UTB

On balance I reckon that's about right. The two games that will haunt me are Bristol City and Villa at home, in both of which we delivered top performances and got no points. Two (probably deserved) wins in those and we finish on 75 points. Could easily have won the away draws at Derby or Brentford, another two points puts us on 77 and comfortably in the play offs. Fine margins, isn't it?

Agree in principle but the weakness in your argumentation is simply this:

It isn’t about a “methodology”. If it was then most clubs would learn that methodology and copy it. It’s actually about the quality of the interaction between manager, coaching staff and players. The most successful managers get that understanding and motivation amongst the squad. Wilder’s got it in spades. So had Warnock.

If you want to be a successful leader then people have to want to follow you. A good manager can inspire that in others. The systems/formation/tactics or “methodology” are way less important than that.

Alternatively the methodology is to include everything that you state (not just on the pitch tactics).

The full package.
