I just looked at the form in the 6 games prior to playing the last 3 FA cup semis, and the ppg achieved in the rest of the season (6, 5 and 8 games respectively) after being knocked out.
I was pleasantly surprised that our ppg improved on all 3 occasions!

It will be interesting to see what our ppg is before we play City and what we might be able to expect for the run in afterwards.

You missed the Newcastle semi at Old Trafford.

Kinell, I was there as well!
PPG in 6 before Newcastle semi 1.7
PPG after 1.2
We're f*****d!

1.7ppg before Man City would put us on 78/79 points with 4 games to play.

The sunderland game was the first of the 6 games leading up to it. We have 3x Home games against Wigan, Cardiff and Bristol City. We have to be winning those, if we do, that gives us 2ppg leading up to it, assuming we lose at both both Burnley and Norwich.

If we win those 3 home games and get something from Norwich or Burnley. That puts us in a very strong position IMO

We've been at 1.5 for the last 6, so might be able to up it a bit, particularly if we can manage a win at Norwich.
We just need to keep our heads. As Weds showed (1 point from the last 9) everyone can have a blip that can make a huge difference.
If (when?) Boro do, we need to have done enough not to throw it away because of pressure from a feared Boro run of form that didn't materialise.

Quite an assumption in this post!!

Please find out what our PPG has been historically was after winning a semi, compared to beforehand, then I'll be interested.

I keep racking my head around it all regards league.

But generally I keep coming back to the same conclusion.

If Boro keep on going in good form then they will pick up a good amount of points. However they have got some tricky ties. Burnley home, Luton away and Coventry on last day. Warnock could do both of us damage too or just the one of us.

In their final 8 games I reckon they might at best get 6 wins 1 draw 1 defeat. I'm actually inclined to think it might be less than that with few more draws and maybe even 2 defeats.

I reckon if we can win 6 we will be ok. Technically win 7 of 9 then they would have to win all 8 matches. I don't see either of those happening.

I reckon 5 wins 1 or 2 draws and 2 or 3 defeats will probably get us over the line.

We need to focus on next 5 before Wembley. Can we get like 3-4 wins etc. Or better.

This is United though
We'll probably win at Norwich and Burnley and lose all three home games

And Bristol City is a strange one. I never feel confident for some reason whenever we play them, I don't know why, I can't explain it because we usually beat them.

But they could be relegated 11 times and I'd still not be confident of beating them if we met them in the cup.
