always liked the look of him scored 2 against the pigs today Preston’s top scorer leads the line well I think he’d do a job for us if we could get him at a decent price only 26 as well so at a good age

Would be my 2nd choice if we can't get McBurnie

One of 3 stand out championship contract expiry targets along with Dunne and Dolan

Any idea how long Karlan Grant has on his contract? Feel like WBA could be tempted to cash in if it is 18 months or less and I think he would fit in great as a Campbell alternative.

2026, it seems

He'd always be a good option at this level. Bit quick for us mind

Karlan Grant is, and in my opinion - always will be - one of those strikers who will score in bursts over a few games making you think he’s better than he is.

Will always be in and around a top 10 championship side who flirts around the play offs with a 1 in 4 record. He’s probably better than Brewster and One at the moment (as purely back up) but never going to be a long term option if we go up.

Is £7m a decent price ? Tbh I've no idea, not heard of him other than on here.

It wouldn't be anywhere near £7m now. That price was apparently a fee that CW was willing to spend on the lad when he was boss at Boro. He's now nearly out of contract, so I would expect a much reduced fee from that £7m figure, would get him. Probably as little as £1m etc.

I've seen him play a good few times and I'm not a fan of his all round play tbh. He's had a couple of ACL injuries in last few years too.

Riis is a solid Championship striker but I do feel we could get better, even with our budget.

He has good physical attributes when it comes to his pace and power and he's a decent finisher but technically his hold up, link up and especially his first touch will prevent him from ever playing any higher than the Championship.

He may well flourish in a team which doesn't require him to do that lone striker role as much as we do but if we get a decent bid for him I'd be tempted to sell.

View from a Preston fan above. Ironic on the loan forward role! But with BBD, Burrows, Hamer and JRS etc I think he'd get more chances with us than he does Preston.

Wilder tried for him when at Boro I've just discovered.

If he's cheap, say between £1m-£1.5m, it's an absolute no brainer even if it's someone to bring off the bench for the last 20 minutes instead of Brewster.

Decent age as well and even if we went up there's the potential to get our money back and possibly more if we sell him back to the championship.

yes with hecky being at preston this could be a goer wonder if we could offload brewster in part exchange ?

I can't imagine signing another injury prone striker is a good idea. I've never been impressed with him. Doesn't do enough in his general game. He's a decent Championship striker and not good enough if we go up or are looking to go up next season.
