Just been told by a mate that Sam Ellis is out and Andy scott and Speed are joint assistants.Anyone heard this???

Ellis = arch pig, should never have been near the lane in the first place.

We should appoint Scott as our new manager with Speed as his assistant.
Job done.

Yes, a contact who comes up with a good one every now and then - he told me about Naysmith two weeks before it happened - said Big Sam out, replaced by Speedo MBE. Nothing about Andy Scott though.

Judging by the fact that fat Sam was ballast for Blackwell balancing on a tandem yesterday it looks like the pig is still very much involved.................................

I don't think Ellis will be no2 for much longer if Speed stays.

Judging by the fact that fat Sam wasn't at Mansfield yesterday, then I'd suggest that you watch this space...

if all true sound good buissines.. get rid of dead wood, give blackie 10 games and see what happen`s.. i personaly think he might get it right this year and keep his job... well hoping UTB

Just out of interest, does anyone slagging the bloke have any idea what he does? or is it just that he's fat and ex-wednesday that means he must be useless in all tasks?

Ellis doesn't sound very loveable in radio interviews. Other than that, I'd hazard a guess that none of those slagging him has any idea what he does or doesn't bring to proceedings.

UTB

He's part of the same backroom staff that Gary Speed is... he's contributed towards the same procedings on the pitch that Gary Speed has... yet one has shit heaped upon him and one is being pushed forward as the saviour of football.

If you're going to dole it out at least be consistent. Before I get jumped on here let me say I like Speed and I'm glad he's at the Lane but I don't think he can be separated from the management team as and when people want.

I'm with you on this they are equally responsible for the product although Speed is the coach on the training ground .
I don't understand all the hype over Speed who is unproven as a manager.

Speed goes down to the academy and encourages the kids when he can, and they respond to him. Ellis along with Blackwell likes to intimidate everyone there and are generally loathed.

That alone puts Speed way above him as good guy and means that he is actually interested in our academy. Ellis and Blackwell had a problem with Reid and don't seem to have gotten over it. Thankfully it seems that Birch is only too aware of it and has already put his own man in.

No idea if Speed will be a good manager, but most of the players listen and respond to him. For that reason if we dump KB I'd like to see him be given a chance.

Man City fans referred to Ellis as a footballing dinosaur many years ago. God only knows what that makes him now.

Is this based on known facts or rumours? I'm not saying it's not true as I'm not really an 'in-the-know' type but if it is it doesn't sound like it's doing much for the harmony at the club if our management team is playing good cop, bad cop with the academy kids.

Its a fact something even Mr Birch acknowledged in his initial face to face meeting with academy staff.

It's nothing to do with good cop/bad cop its just Blackwell and Ellis don't have time for the academy born out of the fact they didn't like Reid's influence.

Ellis has also been involved in a couple of incidents with certain players where his role wasn't exactly in the best interests of harmony at Sheffield United. I'm not going into details but those who do talk to people at the club and the academy will know exactly the incident I'm talking about. I heard it at the time of the incident, since which time I've had ITK'ers tell me the exact same story.

I don't like what I've heard about Ellis, and the fact that he is a ex-Wednesday has little to do with it.
