Is this first home cup game of the season included with our season tickets like the past few years?

So will we have a completely different team on Wednesday, now we are a proper football club again ?

I'd expect all of the subs yesterday to start, along with a handful of the players that did start to make up the 11.

UTB

This shows how we are light on numbers with a few injuries.

Eastwood

Thomas
Lafferty
Wright
Need new CB
Not sure on right back?

Lundstram
Youth team player?

Brooks
Duffy
Lavery

Shows how short we are on players!

I'm quite pleased with the size of our squad to be honest. It's nice and compact and makes a nice change from what we've had in the past. It's an indicator that the club has been properly managed, for once. It'll look better if we manage to bring in a couple and move out Brayford and Wallace. That would be spot on.

There might be occasions where we have a few injuries and can't field a completely different 11 in cup games but that really can't be significantly factored in when building the squad, cup games and the league games after them only form a small minority of the games. We never made 11 changes last season anyway for FA and League Cup games. Smart rotation of the first choice players can make up for not being able to field a completely different line up.

I think the advantages of having a 22-25 man squad outweigh the advantages of having a 30+ man squad.

We're not short on players, we have an almost complete spare 11 of first team players even with a few injuries. There's a danger of the squad getting too big if we bring a couple more in before the deadline as we'll be paying first team wages for people who never even make the bench.

Not a huge fan on fielding under strength teams, but even more so when it's so early in the season. The team is still finding its legs, and still getting their touch right so I wouldn't change things too much, maybe look at resting a full back, and a striker.

Be nice if we could use the game to get some game time into Evans and Baldock seeing as they missed most of the pre season games.

I'd go something like

Eastwood
Freeman
Lafferty
Brayford
Wright
O Connell
Lundstram
Duffy
Brooks
Lavery
Hanson

I imagine it will look like

Blackman
Brayford Semple? Wright Lafferty
Duffy Brooks Lundstram Thomas
Lavery Evans or Hanson (if fit)?

Baldock and Ched are back training. They need game time. They need to be involved

Pretty sure this is included with season tickets? I read that it would qualify for the first home game of either cups, League or FA Cup up to the 3rd round.

Why do we want malnutriened strikers from France?

Personally I hope we sign players who eat three square meals a day and understand that breakfast is very very important

Fair point, but we really do need to recruit from Ligue 2 . It's de rigour.

I am sure Callum Semple will be over the moon that he has not been forgotten about. Back in November all being well.
