EEL & Lambert

I think this could be a positive.

Hopefully he's sees him as not good enough at Championship level and agrees season loan to remain. An early look allows both Wolves and united to plan accordingly !

Sorry if posted anywhere else not seen it.
Looks like wolves manager Paul Lambert is attending the Walsall game Tuesday night ! Wants to watch EEL himself..... a little concerning :(https://www.facebook.com/TheStarSUFC/posts/1795537767369266

Yeah I know it's only pig rag but still ...

If he plays anything like he did on Saturday he'll be staying here. I like EEL but he's not currently Championship quality.

Agree with Balham - whilst I fully expect him to improve to at least Champ standard in time, EEL's current limitations (i.e. not particularly comfortable with the ball at his feet, needs a guiding CB partner (Wright) and prone to the odd (big) error), I would expect him to look exposed if he played there at the moment. Playing either a bit part or being thrown into a struggling side won't do him much good - I'd imagine players of the standard of Dwight Gayle would run rings round him.

While it sounds biased in favour of Utd, and to a degree probably is, I would have thought he'd be better off playing this season in L1 and step-up next season (whether it be with Wolves or, all being well, Utd).

Either way, I hope the Utd fanbase don't blow it out of proportion a la Brayford. CW has stated he'd like him to stay but it is out of his and the club's hands. If he does go back, I fully expect a capable replacement to come in.

Well if Wright's out then EEL will be playing in the middle of the back three. He doesn't look as good there. So that could actually be a positive if Lambert's watching.

The way Wolves are going it could be a choice for him of Championship football with us or League 1 with Wolves next season - I won't get ahead of myself though.

I was disappointed with the way EEL was outmuscled by the Charlton number 9 on Saturday and EEL lost just about every challenge for a header with him. If Lambert thinks EEL will improve Wolves' back 4 they must have real problems

I fairness, the majority of Blades thought that Morgan wouldn't be able to hack it in the Premiership and he took it in his stride.

EEL could do ok in the Championship if he can get his head around the difference and adjust his game accordingly...but I think he needs a full season in league one to toughen himself up.

Based on what my mate saw on Saturday then EEL can't be any worse than the current Wolves defenders getting a game. Hopefully Wilder will be a) having a word with Lambert about an extension or b) figuring out a Plan B for January.

Hopefully, Ethan won't be in the game. If we show the all out attack as in previous games then he could have a comfortable game .images (4).jpg

Would be good if wilder didn't play EEL. Wasted trip for Lambert

Not sure that's the most sensible approach - piss Lambert off, avoid him judging EEL in a Utd shirt and make him far more likely to want to judge him in a WWFC one.

What will be will be - if he stays then great, if not, he's done brilliantly for himself and the club and everyone moves on.

Whilst i think CW rates the lad (henwouldnt have brought him if he didnt) i think he also recognises his limitations at the moment. Imo i dont think he isngood enough week in week out for a top end champ club and with EEL you are buying a fair degree of raw talent. If the price is right then get him in. If its not or Wolves start playing silly buggers then wish the lad well and move on. EEL has been a top loan signing and helped us out tremendously, but i feel there is always a bollock waiting to be dropped with him and if he was under more pressure (as he would get in the championship) there would me more opportunities for said bollocks to be dropped). I like him, but wouldnt be too brassed off if we had to move onto another target instead i.e Webster at Millwall. Better players become available for better wages and i think there would be plenty of championship level centre halves wanting to sign for sufc once we got promotion. Just need to get there first though. I hope CW tries to bring in EEL long term, but only if the price and deal is right for sufc.

He's just sending a message to the other defenders that he's considering options. In non-Adkins speak 'pull your finger out or fuck off'. And a message to the players left out by Zenga 'pull your finger out and I might use you'.
It's not that different to the message CW gave to his players.
