Edgar on International Duty

You've reminded me of a classic from one of Britain's best bands...

One of my favourite lines in a song :
Y is for Yate which sounds like a place a referee would come from. :) From the referees alphabet.

As for Edgar cant we drop Collins and play him with Basham ,just to see how good he is ?

All I want for Christmas is a solid centre half and an athletic midfielder but we always get palmed off with a headless centre forward and a goalkeeper with no arms and a face like his

So, having let the just recovered Edgar make a transatlantic trip to play 19 minutes of football, he did not make the 16 on Saturday.

Has anyone at the club explained why?
Any journalist who follows United should have asked the question but they always seem to ask a question that is very easy to answer or ones that we already know some sort of answer to.

I'd guess because you have to release fit players for international duty. Yes, we could have probably argued about it but there's plenty of other stuff we need to sort out without getting into arguments with the Canadian FA and potentially pissing Edgar off too.

Adkins said the call was his, not the Canadian FAs

That's your answer then. He's looked at the bigger picture and decided it wasn't worth pissing Edgar off over one game when he needs him for the next ten at least and potentially the rest of the season.

I can't imagine the atmosphere is great at the Lane right now and probably wouldn't have been improved by Adkins giving it the big one and stopping a player play for his country.

I know you're trying to find an answer to it BB and i appreciate that. Edgar hasn't played a competitive game for weeks on end due to a muscle injury, so him making a journey all that way to play an international game, well nineteen minutes anyway is not a very good decision in my book. I have stuck up for Adkins up to now but some of the things that i have picked upon and others have are very hard to defend, this to me is a bad decision and one that doesn't give a good sense of professionalism, i could be wrong but that's the jist i am getting. Adkins is in charge not Edgar, Adkins should be making good decisions for our club not Canada.

'G is for the Gnarled face of someone who is on £90,000 a week and reckoned he should have had a throw-in'

D is for the dunderheads who seem to think we have a conspiracy against their particular team
