I know there's a lot of talk about plan b's, but I just don't see how we can spend that level of cash on a secondary option.

I actually wonder if Swift is earmarked for that role.

According to some reports Swift is just 'dotting the i's and crossing the t's ' before becoming our second summer signimg.

If Eze has his choice of London clubs we've no chance and as stated elsewhere he'd be an obvious replacement for Zaha at Palace

Benharama is the man if we cant get Eze

This was never going to happen. We just don't have the money to spend on a player who plays in a position we don't normally use. Besides, we already have one disappointing 'where would he play in our system?' player from QPR, we don't need another.

I remember some people wanking themselves silly about Eze linking up with Mousset, well now there's two reasons why that isn't going to come to fruition!

The sooner Eze and Cantwell sign for someone other than us, the better, for the sake of the forum if nothing else.

Signings like this will help us change formations.
We are crying out for more creativity through the middle.
Don't get me wrong he doesnt fit into our current system (at all with the sounds of him) but next season our plan B and C needs to be stronger than it was last week.
You want to scrap a system that has got us a top ten finish in the premier league, when all the experts had us down for rock bottom? It’s the system that allows us to be where we are, not the calibre of player.

No chance of Benrahma either.

The prices being quoted for Benrahma are £25-30m & his main link is Chelsea. There's no chance we're in that pond.

No not at all, but when we are behind or not having success down the wings the only formation change we have is for McGoldrick to drop deep and play behind a new front 2.

We have gone 4 at the back a couple of times recently (that admittedly doesn't suit us) but how can if hurt having the option of more creative players on the bench, or god forbid even wingers.

Our bench currently is a whole lot of like for likes.

We have moved on a lot from having a Brooks type player let alone a Duffy one, but if Enda and Baldock aren't having success and our back 3 aren't getting forward enough then our Plan B needs to be different than just take one striker off for another one.

If our plan B is going 4-2-3-1 or whatever system is used by 95% of teams in the premier league then we are f#cked! They all have a better calibre of player than us. For me, we need to make our unique 5-3-2 work better if we are to succeed in this league?

I dont mean to be all doom and gloom but losing Henderson could dampen the whole 3 at the back, but if we get a worthy replacement then I think While ever we are blessed with Bash, JOC and Enda then we HAVE TO stick with 3 at the back. They are absolutely perfect for that system defensively and going forward.
Add an inform Baldock and Enda and it almost forces your hand to go with 5 in midfield, but we need more from the central players.

Norwood, Fleck and Berge need to get braver and more positive on the ball. Sweeping the ball side to side for a center half or wing back is all well and good if creativity or at least shots are coming from the middle too.

I thought Osborn was a revelation.
It was like having a holding midfielder then having 3 upfront at the same time. His drive and workrate was incredible but above all else he drove us forward. The only player we have now that almost always drives forward through the middle is Bash.

It looks like we will be getting that Swift who is described as a box to box player which sounds promising, and I'm very confident that Berge will be running games and pulling all our strings next season but Fleck, Lunny, Norwood need to give McBurnie and whoever partners him much better service.

Callum Robinson scores but missed a few good chances to score more and get Albion up!!

Watched the whole game. Great goal from Eze but that was all he did. Robinson made WBAs first goal and scored the second. Missed a very good chance but overall his movement and link up play was good.

Only.one game but for sure if you based it on those 90 mins you'd say Robinson had by far the bigger impact.

What a goal he has just scored against Wes
We can't afford him mate, rumour as it we're looking at a young lad from Port Vale..

Why do.our fans keep saying this 🙄 some of our fans kept saying we only had 20m budget yet signed McBurnie 20m Berge 22m Mousett 10m alone.

Eze in the Championship this season:
✅ 46 games
⚽️ 14 goals
🅰️ 8 assists
⚡️3 successful dribbles per 90
🔑 1.9 key passes per 90
🎯 13 big chances created

He's only 22 years of age and one of the best players in the Championship.

Sign him up ⚔

He'd be a superb second striker to McBurnie.
He's very much in the McGoldrick mould in a lot of ways but with more pace and flair, little less strength and tactical nous, but they are quite similar players.
Eze's long term future is definitely as a Number 10 or in a 2 upfront. He's too good not to be.

Cannot see us spending £20m on one player this season.

We've got a top 4 defence and a bottom 3 attack at the moment (statistically - only 7 other teams in Premier League history outside the top 6 have conceded 40 or less. Average goals scored by a team in 18th is 39. Data from the last 25 Prem seasons).

The defence will regress next season, law of averages. We'll hopefully keep goals against under 50. We just need to find a way to score 45+. Players like Eze may help with that?

Whatever happens he's done his time at QPR and we'll see him in the Premier League

I'd really like Eze. Price will be interesting in this climate. Hard to know exactly how we'd accommodate him, but we do lack players with his various attacking abilities. In theory, he could develop into the DidZy role, if we can't tweak our formation to suit him behind strikers. N.B. On a related note, I've not seen much of Osayi-Samuel but he's clearly rapid and being linked with a £4m move to Belgium.

I’m not too fussed about Eze tbh. Not really sure what the hype is about. Let one of the London clubs spunk big money on him. He wouldn’t suit us at all in my opinion.

Because he isn't a cart horse clogger that 🙄

The hype is justified the lad is a real talent and has everything we have been missing in our team.

We don’t have any ‘cart horse clogger’ type players in our team... nor do I want them!

I just don’t rate Eze. 90% f’ing around. 10% brilliance. I don’t like those odds.

Hype?? West Ham might buy him... great 👍

Should have signed him last summer before the bigger teams with more money came sniffing same with Ollie Watkins.

Gonna wet spam apparently , making some good signings them thats another team who won’t be near relegation along with Southampton
