I'm actually going to be looking at Ayres Rock the day of PUFC vs SUFC...........That's not even a wind up, that's why this thread is being done now as I leave on thursday for a month in Oz!!!!!!! Bit random but thought I'd post this now just for some useful info for anyone going.

http://www.theposh.com/news/article/2016-17/sheffield-3533544.aspx- Good news for any travelling fans, you'll get the stand behind the goal as well as the usual bit which will mean over 4000 Blades inside the Abax and an atmosphere at a posh game for a change!!!!!

I can't even say much as there's several games between then and now, suffice to say this is the hardest home game we've got left this season. Samuelsen is back which may strike fear into some hearts but he has only played a combined 65-ish minutes so far. Posh lack any real firepower up top, Nichols is looking all too like a poorer man's Connor Washington back when he was dire, Angol is a tricky customer but he is mainly a support striker and Taylor is more a free role player.

The threat comes from Maddison, Taylor and Gwion Edwards IMO while Forrester and a back 2 of Tafazoli and Baldwin are all comfortable on the ball, both full backs Smith and Hughes have performed well this season as well. Mcgee (loan from spurs) is possibly the best GK in this league.

I genuinely think this could end 4-4, both sides will want to win it and we tend to play better (albeit often without the results) against the top sides under McCann.

Tips for travelling fans:

PE2 9AG- enter this postcode for free street parking- might have to go on another street but plenty nearby and no resident permit holders rubbish. Very good chippy nearby on oundle road.

Charters- Best away pub (Cherry tree has closed down) its a barge on the river, and you can sit outside if weather permits, will be packed full of Blades.

Arriving by train: Ground is 15 mins walk from the train station, come out, turn right, walk right down to the bottom of the car park, cut across the asda car park and turn right when you reach the walkway, you'll probs see the ground obscured by a big block of modern flats. There's a KFC by the ground and a Papa Luigis. Queensgate shopping centre near the station if you've got time to kill etc.

Enjoy the game!

Good preview. This is my favourite fixture as i was born and raised in Peterborough. I'll be sitting in the Posh end with family and friends who live there but definitely want the Blades to win. I take it you live in Peterborough, Posh Blade?

Thanks Posh, much appreciated mate :)

Do you know if the exit is used/open onto Glebe Road after the match?

If so will probably park somewhere down that end.

Going to be looking at ayers rock, wheres it on at, the odeon? Good read Mr.posh trust you willhave a good holiday, keep safe and good luck for the rest of the season

Oh....are you supposed to get OUT of the bath to have a piss.....?
He must be a very 'poshblade' then !
;)
Must be quite posh to have a bathroom big enough to need to. I can hit the sink or toilet without getting out of the bath. In fact I could lie there and just piss upwards safe in the knowledge most of it will land in the three.

We must be of a similar vintage. I frequented the same haunts, including London road, in the 80s and early 90s. I'll probably head for the Brewery Tap - slightly further to walk than Charters and the Beehive but its a microbrewery with decent ales and good Thai food.

I take it this is kicking off at 2:45pm to accommodate the rail schedules?

Cheers lads. To answer the initial question, live near Huntingdon and have spent all my life within a 23 mile radius of pboro- except 3 years at uni of sheff hence the blade connection but given mum and dad still lived in PE28 and I was home every uni holiday that doesn't really count as anything else. Think the beehive is actually currently closed as well.

Beehive is open, just spoke 2 them.Bad news no singing lol. That will b1st pint around 11 or the brewery tap then the beehive.Thats a plan.Oundle road pubs, crown to town, not many left im afraid.Peterborough is not great tbf but 1 days ok
