Pembo we know about, Frank Barlow has a fantastic rep throughout football especially as an assistant manager/coach - Morgs is, well, Morgs! Can you imagine anybody stepping out of line with Morgs around?

I was disappointed with the entire short-list never mind DW being appointed but I've had time to think about it. I actually feel very optomistic about the next two or three years because despite a manager's previous history, sometimes the planets align favourably.

Article on the O/S

"Chris Morgan has described Danny Wilson as the 'perfect manager' for the Blades.

Morgan, who himself will step into a new role as player-coach under Wilson, has first hand experience of working with United's new boss after the pair were together at Barnsley, where Wilson handed Morgan his debut as a player.

Despite criticism from a minority of supporters following Wilson's appointment, Morgan says fans will give him their full backing in the months ahead.

"When I spoke to the Gaffer yesterday it brought back a few memories personally, but honestly he is a top manager and good fella, who is very hard-working," said Morgan.

"I was in a privileged position at Barnsley because I saw him build that football club and we enjoyed a lot of success together, through sheer hard-work and that is what we need to do now.

"He re-shaped the club and took it forward - he is looking forward to achieving the same here and he can't wait to get his teeth into the challenge."

Morgan added: "I want the fans to give the manager a chance and focus on Sheffield United because he is a perfect manager for this club.

"He needs time, there is a big rebuilding job to be done and he knows that some players will leave and others will arrive but that isn't different to any other pre-season, although this summer is a bit different after relegation.

"He will be organised, will work hard and from what I saw him do at Barnsley, there is plenty to be optimistic about.

"He has got a fantastic Chairman in Kevin McCabe, who will back him all the way. Danny will want to play good football, but importantly winning football. He won't want it to be in his words 'circus football', he isn't going to turn us into an ultra passing team, what he will do is get us working effectively and play to our strengths."

And, oh yes, the fans! We are Blades!!!!
