While attending the after match committee meeting in the ale house & discussing the the merits and misdemeanours of the starting 11 we moved onto the subs .

Step forward the ‘mercurial’ Donno ... hmmm right where do we start .. The Mr Hyde of Tues night I’ll award him 2 out of 10 for that performance.. the award 2 coming the fact he managed to find the ground & put his shirt on the right way around .. some thing he failed on when it came to putting on his boots !

I couldn’t believe how bad he played .. I’ve seen a pinball machine hold the ball better , a playground of 5 yr olds would have had more positional sense and Jonny Vegas would have presented a bigger goal threat , but lastly and more significant the criminal act of of putting next to fuck all effort in until the crowd raised their displeasure at chasing down defenders or running the channels ..the complete opposite of your colleague at the side of you up front .

Then we have the Dr Jekyll of Sunderland , Derby & Villa away 8 out of ten performer .. the hard working lively striker always playing on the heels of the last defender , possessing a deft touch and clinical eye for goal !!! .. are there 2 Clayton out there .. does he owe the mafia money ?

The only answer we came up was his better performances came when he was in the starting 11 and stinkers when introduced from the bench .. I can now understand the frustration & bewilderment at how to get the best out of his talent will have probably had Wilder & his previous managers banging their heads against brick walls .

Please Clayton can we have the Mr Hyde for the last 14 games be it from the bench or not as your good side might just give the edge required to secure a top 6 place ..

Yours In Hope

Donaldson was signed as a stop gap from September to the end of the season. He’s done more than what a lot thought he would with his performances against Sunderland, Villa away and Norwich.

I don’t think anyone, probably including himself, thinks he is going to be part of next seasons plans.

(If he is part of it then the ownership saga has gone tits up big style)

Sorry disclaimer in last paragraph Dr Jekyll for f**ks sake .. I’m bloody catching it now !!!!

For future reference, you can edit your initial post for up to ten minutes after you've posted it.

I wouldn't say Big Don @ Breakfast was a Jekyll & Hyde player but I agree he had a bit of a stinker on Tuesday.

Cheers for the editing tip TJB , We saying think he goes from of the scale to other
[, a talented but frustrating player mate

I’d go along with that HG but he needs to turn in a some of his better performs in the run in now

Thought he did ok when he came on. Few stray touches but also won us free kicks that slowed the game down.

I’ll give that Roy that he won us a few free kicks in running clock down . By by Christ his touch was shocking & there was a couple of times late on when then full back pushed forward and he just watched , Clarke had been on for the hour previous and was still working his bollocks off ,, that I don’t accept

DonaldsonCame on when we were all over the place ,nobody supporting anybody good job the defence was OK.
must have been like rush hour in the subway and he was put under pressure from coming on ,don't blame him at all.

He’s a 34yo squad player signed for next to nothing, he’s not going to be Harry Kane every time he steps on the pitch.

Another example of or fans being negative for no real reason. Donaldson wasn’t a 2/10 on Tuesday at all.

He’s been signed to be a rotatation striker. Play some games cause issues and be a different option. I think he’s doing exactly that. He’s scoring important goals and works hard for the team.

If we had paid £15million for him then maybe we should be criticising his performance.

For me I think he’s been an excellent signing and I have no issues with seeing his name on the starting line up.

Which for many years at our club I use to look at the teamsheet and :(

I take the point but for 50k I would still argue he is the best value striker signed by any team in the region. Scores bloody marvellous goals as well and he'll get a few more before the end of the season.

I’d rather we had a beast of a man up top, so it’s Mr Hyde in the last paragraph for me. :D

I honestly think that many of the goals scored in this league are either individual moments of quality (which we've been on the receiving end of a few times) or blatant mistakes which get punished.

Although not without his moments of quality (first vs Sunderland), the Don is particularly clinical at the second type, for example at Villa and Norwich. Every team needs a striker who is adept at converting opponents errors. He's ours.

Never disputing his finishing ability at all and his other attributes as I said in second paragraph of the OP and yeh you can rightly add Norwich away to the good list , it’s tbe scale of inconsistency

He is a substitute striker that cost 50k, I am not sure how much consistency you are expecting?

I expect consistency for the big money players, that's why they are £5million. You pay for a level of consistency.

I believe for £50k we are reaping the rewards and have made an astute signing that is giving us a higher level of consistency than we paid for especially in the Championship!

7 Starts 5 goals!

3 Points away at Sunderland, 1 point at Villa and 3 at Norwich.

But your right lets start a negative post.

If you’ve read any of my previous comments of threads pal you’d know that I’m the complete fuckin opposite

But yeh I was critical of some of his performances and also praised him on others , there are a few on near who blow hot & cold but I’m not one of em .

Did I not mention any of his good performs seemed to recall mentioning Derby , Villa and Sunderland ?? Hmmm .. think I did ..or didn’t I read again ???
