We have to take this opportunity to freshen up this squad and change the mentality. You have to change the mindset where mediocrity is acceptable because of the characters which allow this. There is clearly an element of self preservation in the squad. Summer will be a big test for many at the club.

I think Collins and many of the others will go though. Adkins has been quite ruthless with the youngsters who have been allowed to leave, plus McNulty and the others sent out on loan, and I think he will be ruthless with most of the squad – but not McEveley.
