........we play Colchester at the weekend :easy::easy:

Joking apart i was a bit concerned that the first half decent team we have played managed to turn us over quite easily. It looks to me that we are carrying a few players Porter, Flynn & Doyle to name just three, not to mention simmo needing to be replaced. Last night we didn't manage to score from at least 3 easy chances.

To be fair dp, the game turned in a mad few minutes and if we'd scored from any of three good chances including Porter's tap in before they got their 2nd it could have been a different game. Aside from the last 20 minutes of the 1st half there was nothing between the two teams as the stats for the game show. I admit that they didn't need to force the game in the 2nd half but I wouldn't say they 'turned us over very easily'. They were a big strong team and were more clinical than us on the night, simple as.

I'm sorry Jim but I think you are way off the mark to describe Porter's chance as a tap in. Lowton's re Bury is a tap-in for me. Porter made very good contact with a ball that was ever so slightly behind him. Maybe he should have delayed his run a split second and it would have been much easier to slot it towards far post but his only option was to go near post and it missed by inches - keeper read it and in my opinion would have got to a shot on target. I honestly don't recall the 3 good chances we have before their 2nd goal but we did look perfectly reasonable and I agree that the game turned in a few minutes of madness.

OK maybe it a bit harsh on Porter and I haven't seen a reply other than on the screen last night but it looked like a bad miss. There were a couple of free-kicks which we somehow couldn't get a touch on at the back post despite 2 or 3 players seemingly in great positions. I thought they were both in between their 1st and 2nd goals, could be wrong.

Can recall clearly one free-kick which Quinn floated in lovely at 1-0 I think yes but it was too high imo (by very small margin) and deep for anyone to get a head on, had a v good view of it sat at bottom of G south stand. Loooked very close and we had men free but I don't think they could have reached it given the runs they made - and remember obviously they had to stay onside.

fair enough - I think Porter is useless but imo struck that one well - he's certainly getting alot of stick from colleagues here who went - saying total sitter etc. I didn't see it like that on replays

The Porter miss was easier to score Mic. Sat on the kop so viewing it from behind he was bang in front of goal and put it wide. On target and Bennett had no chance. His lack of pace, touch and movement really is worrying at the minute.

But not as much as the keeper situation. To be fair the ball moved for the first but it should have been pushed out to safety like Bennett did. He doesnt command his area at all. Every time they got a set piece I thought they would score from it
