Forest, Bristol City, Norwich, Cardiff - all tipped to go up!

I can see Forest being strong - but City, Cardiff and Norwich? I would think it would take longer than a pre-season to change City from a poor relegation threatened team to contenders. Cardiff have so many money probs they could easily lose more of their top players and will Norwich find the step up too hard - also will they keep their manager if a bigger team come knocking?

Play offs: Leeds, Middlesbrough, Leicester, Burnley, QPR - QPR have money and Burnley a bit too (but look at their manager), Leicester maybe and QPR are certainly going to be there or there abouts. I'm not too sure about Middlesbrough yet - is Strachan as good as some say he is?

We haven't been mentioned and not too concerned as obviously we aren't seen as a danger - even though we have kept some of our most effective players and some got rid of some of our less effective ones. The incomings have been positive and we have still to see the best of Evans and hopefully a full season from Wardy will make a difference too.

Bristol City is only because they signed David James, Cardiff and Norwich is a bit of a Joke prediction if you ask me.

Yep, United seem to flourish as underdogs so that will do for me. I tend to expect we will have a similar season to last if I'm honest but to not even consider us for playoffs is a little foolish IMO.

One thing that pundits do time and time again is write United off. The one thing they should know by now is that we're one of those sides you never write off!

Reading through the Guardian/Observer predictions yesterday, Cardiff seemed to be a popular shout for promotion. I'd say we are in a much better position then them - stronger team, better finances (we're not going to get wound up this season!) so like most I'd be happy to be disregarded.

We were nowhere in the pre-season tips in 2005-06, were we?

I always remember in the summer of 05, after we had signed Shipperley, Ifill, Webber, there was an air of optimism around the Lane. I think most Blades fans knew we had a better side than we had had for many years. I also remember that summer, about a week before the season, opening the Times and seeing us tipped to finish 19th, below Hull and swfc, who had just come up from L1. The journalists name escapes me now, but I believe he is a wendy anyway, perhaps someone can jog the memory?

Anyway, the crux of it was the prediction was ridiculous.. I bet that journo felt a bit daft when we had won 15 out of our first 18 games and sat top in November, looking like we were going to have the league sown up by March, although it didn't quite work out that way. To be fair to the bloke though, I don't think he had tipped Reading either that year.

I'd say that at the moment Cardiff have to be amongst the favourites to go up, simply because Chopra, Whittingham et al are still there and will win them games at this level. Forest should still be strong, although probably top 6 rather than top 2. Boro should piss it I reckon. If Cardiff have to sell Chopra and Whittingham in January, I'd expect them to fall away sharpish.

He's picked 4 teams to go up automatically and has a different 4 for the play-offs -does he know something we don't?

And a premiership Right back and erm, got a quality manager

I fancy bristol for automatic - they also have maynard who i think will be top scorer for our div, Don Goodmans a prick though and i hate his commentary on sky, so his predictions can go bollox.

Alot of these websites talk shite and generally go with who they have some allegiance to. A Good example of the bollocks they talk is this one i found today - http://www.teamtalk.com/columns/6291437/TEAMtalk-s-FL-predictions-Part-One

Some prick of a journo called Rob McCarthys reasoning for Swansea getting relegated are simply " I'm not a fan of Brendan Rodgers which is why I've gone for the Swans despite them doing well last season"

i never go with these and never will, there just journalists/ex-pro's with nothing better to do and dont know what they're talking about.
