Have people forgotten that we bought Murphy at the start of the JTW? For what it's worth, I think that Murphy at around £ 100,000 is more use to us than Blackman was. To get over £1Million for Blackman is a bonus.
Murphy hasn't been here long but he recognises players in United shirt better than Blackman ever did. Blackman was a very selfish player who seemed to prefer a shot high, wide or both than a pass to a team mate in a better position.

The addition of Forte might allow Murphy to play inside more to allow a strike partnership with any one of many front players that we already have.

Agreed! Higginbotham was also a decent addition. Take January as a whole, it hasn't been as bad as people are making out. With the addition of Robson too, it's looking OK. Can't help but feel we need one more striker, but not that bad overall.

Murphy more use than Blackman?? Blackman had every natural asset, pace, physique, balance and a good first touch, he looked every inch a natural athlete. Such was his potential I would not be surprised if Reading more than triple their investment.

Jamie Murphy on the other hand, looks like his knees are tied together, admittedly only seen him three times, but not at all impressed.

i dont know, i always considered murphy as a replacement for one of the other 7 or 8 players we lost but never replaced. but now he's a replacement for blackman. so what do i know.

Thought Murphy looked loads better than Blackman at Notts County, who coincidentally was roundly booed and abused by a significant number of the support for being lazy.

I think the fundamental change we need to see is playing a system whereby the wingers actually look to go outside of their man and get to the byline. The cut inside and pass sideways/clip diagonal cross in just isn't working.
