Law 5 - the referee
Referees have the authority to take action from when they enter the field of play for the pre-match inspection, not from the start of the game - which means players could be sent off for an offence committed while warming up. But yellow cards can only be issued from the start of the match.

Players injured by opponents who are then sent off do not need to leave the pitch for treatment.

He sent Basham off and then made the injured player leave the field.

Absolute joke of a referee, hope he gets the shits this weekend after that display.

He is the 1 thing that all football fans all seem to go agree on. Darren Deadman is 1 of football leagues worse referees. Searched his name on twitter & went back to march/april, not 1 fan had a good word to say about & usually groans. Wasnt he the ref of that brentford game few years ago finished 2-2 had 4 penalties, 10 yellows, 3 red cards despite not having a bad tackle in the match

That was the maddest referring performance I've ever seen and that includes some crazy geezers in Sunday league football. Can't believe he's still doing it 4 years later

That was Keith Stroud, the third Chuckle Brother

Let's get him sorted with the old rules before we confuse him.

I was under the impression it wasn't just sending offs that displaced a player leaving the field, but bookings aswell. Happened on 3 separate occasions at Bramall Lane this season and our players have had to leave the field after being injured by a foul that resulted in a booking.

The most uncomfortable thing about Darren Deadman still managing to be a league referee after all these years of consistently bizarre and ridiculous performances it the fact that he's not even the worst around. May I refer you to Mr Trevor kettle and Mr Andy Haines. The afore mentioned Keith Stroud also pushes the trio to the title of biggest moron to ever hold a whistle.

Also, who remembers the laughable performance by Jonathan Moss against Oldham at home about four years ago. Two dodgy red cards, one resulting in a last minute penalty and also showing Ched the wrong colour card when attempting to book him for being fouled. Not the last time Mr Moss has given a soft last minute penalty against us either. Unfortunately he didn't sent Dean Hammond off.

Who was the ref the other year when he sent one of our players off before realising he'd got it wrong and called him back onto the pitch and reversed his decision?

That was Keith Stroud, who's from Bournemouth, so it was rather convenient that Bournemouth's main promotion rivals both dropped points and lost key players....

The worst ref performance was Darren Bond in the play off game at home to Swindon. Constantly giving decisions in Swindon's favour all game.
