Sorry Jim, you're not anonymous anymore..

We've gone backwards ever since Doyle and Collins were signed.

Unfortunately, as depressing as it is saying this, we have gone even further backwards since Doyle was let go.

Or should that be backwards and sidewards? o_O

He essentially gets paid oodles of quid to manage the Twitter account. I've no idea what else he does day to day but if he has any influence its not surprising we a) cant keep players - "hey its in Jamie's best interests he leaves" and b) cant fucking sign anyone.

As far as I understand he doesn't get a salary from the club, he gets a salary from the Prince which is separate from the club's accounts. He acts as the Prince's representative in other matters besides the Blades.

I'd just like to say one thing here, this is more or less the same players that made premiership players look quite ordinary with the addition of a couple of so called better players, 70% of yesterday's starters made a very good Southampton side look mediocre and scared the shorts off of Spurs yet these same players make Crewe etc look like World Cup winners, to me it's not mc cable, the prince, Mr Phipps or Mr Adkins that are the problem it seems to me none of them are on the pitch stealing thousands of pounds a week from my beloved club that could be spent on players that would feel proud and honoured to wear the red and white and play in front of better crowds than some championship, aye and even premiership clubs.
IMHO there seem to be only 3 or 4 that should keep their jobs at BDTBL, done, sharp, Adams, Collins from yesterday's starters add sammon and ditch the rest, could the youngsters coming through do any worse, honestly?
At least if they got a shot they may at least show a little passion and commitment to the cause.
Drop them Mr Adkins and transfer list the lot of them because they will have to play a lot better to get a move and if they do ask the spineless non entities why they couldn't do so before.
We need a monty, Curtis woodhouse or even a Doyle committed players to show these witless others a fire and desire.
Give back up players and youngsters a chance and a few games we really have nothing to lose on recent showings.

Ok then Jim - support Nigel and put together an action plan to;
A) identify players who are seen to have a future at the club.
B) coach these players to the required standards. New coaches could be required.
C) players who are not on the above list are to be returned to parent clubs or transfer listed immediately.
D) as a result of 'C', these players will have no first team involvement.

We need to have a culture of success and currently players are just turning up and hoping that things will go in their favour.

I really think wr need to stop buying or loaning old Prem or Championship reserve players. Theres a reason they are not selected for there clubs and most of the time they arrive not match fit.

We need to be targeting players from this division.
I concur. Find the best players in the division and try and sign them. We'd be seen as a step up, presumably give them a pay rise without being held to ransom, they know the league and would be hoping to develop to play in the next one and bust a gut to get there.

My thoughts on Phippsy are thus:

Pros
1 he seems a decent bloke
2 he's willing to engage and understands the need to win hearts and minds

Cons
1 He repeatedly states they don't know what they're doing. Once is quite endearing, all the bastard time is a little embarassing.
2 he's possibly too nice - how much really did they fight to keep Murphy? Did they treat him as an employee by allowing him to progress his career rather than as a footballer and get him to give us until the end of his current deal / even just one more season
3 Too willing to pander to halfwits on FB / Twitter. Its nice he's on there, but Jesus you'd have thought he'd reign it in a bit more. Plus with his lack of knowledge how much credence is he giving to these nobheads?
4 THAT statement. Christ on a bike don't tell the current players they're a sack of shit in public, nor say the division is diabolical.
5 Stop giving us all this "sit tight" bollocks. Its crap. We are all aware it's crap - in some situations its just better to say nothing. Again making a rod for his own back with the social media prescence.

All in all, the Cons currently outweigh the Pros. I think he probably needs to get football-savvy and quick if we're to keep players and also in his dealings with managers and their wishlists of players, but then we hear Adkins I all up for the transfer committee so mebbee it'll all turn out oreyt in the end..

Phipps and his cohorts have clearly come here with absolutely no knowledge of English football whatsoever and arrogantly thought that they could chuck a few million at the club and hey presto we'd be promoted.

They have no idea what they're doing.
I wonder who told/sold them that ??

Dear Jim,

I would like

  • An open training session once a week (they should all be in on Sundays when we don't win, so that will do). The players need to know that their lack of effort will have the consequences of having to face angry fans.
  • An explanation, in plain English, of what Clough did wrong in terms of transfers. Not just you bad-mouthing him on Facebook. If he just took the cheque book and made signings without your knowledge, what the hell were you doing?
  • A drinking ban during the football season (which can be relaxed on occasion at the managers discretion
  • Actual figures of how much money has been spent by the Prince on the playing squad. Not wages, but fees. Making vague claims doesn't help anyone. A list of who owns what and rents the club has to pay, and to whom
  • An clear explanation as to how our transfer business works, and who has the last say. You puts players forward etc.
Fix it for me Jim.

He's meant to be approachable and always says you can ask him anything so why not take him up on your points, which are very good.

I tried asking him some stern questions last year and he blocked me on Facebook.

Rodders, do you think there may be a link between THAT statement and the impression given yesterday that the players are demotivated?
My first thought was that they resent NA because some of them don't think Clough should have been sacked but I can't see how the hierarchy calling them shit is going to help. Perhaps they're demotivated by those above NA, just as it seemed the swine were under Strafford's regime.
I hope I'm wrong on this (and fortunately I often am).

I'm not going to 'friend' him on Facebook just to ask him a question. If he gave a shit about what the fans thought (as opposed to what spin they bought) he'd look at the forums. Probably with a large glass of single malt.

They were the exact same spineless cunts under clough

That's what Jim does when he gets difficult to answer questions he only stays friends with happy clappers.
