Personally, I think we -- the board, the management, the players, and the fans -- need to step it up,

Not a great start after your rousing statement Jim lad

I'm out of beer but have found some Bacardi at the back of the cupboard. This is less than ideal but needs must...
Oh shit, Bacardi. When you drink it, imagine your drinking my Hobgoblin Gold that I'm on now. Nectar of the Gods.

I've got 2 bottles of red wine and I'm going to drink both of the cunts while watching Darts a proper game! Fuck Phipps, Fuck Mcabe, Fuck SUFC and fuck any fucker who fucking defends the fucking imbeciles.

Alcohol was serving me well till the wife knocked seven shits out of it. Now anything united is getting the consequences

Means fuck all if they haven't got a clue how to get it. .

That's why they hired Adkins, because he does. You can't really blame them if Adkins fails. On paper he was by far the best man for the job.

Sadly for Adkins, he's still working with the shite their previous shit appointments have lumbered the club with.

We are in our fifth season in this league.

As Phipps is fond of saying, hindsight is easy. At the time, most of us were pleased with the appointments of Weir and Clough.

Wilson, whose appointment divided fans, is the one who's brought us closest to promotion.

Wilson had s great squad.
I wanted Weir and was wrong.
I didn't want Clough, and was right.

In the end, you can only go for a man with a track record. All the rest is fluff. We need to hold our nerve.

Most didn't want Clough but were relieved given the other potential options.

Exactly. You can blame the board for all kinds of things, but their appointments were, in theory and at the time, good ones. In hindsight we could have done better of course, but their credentials were all on paper top-notch (though you can argue about Clough and the untried Weir)

So how many seasons do we have to be in this league before we can start blaming the board for picking shithouse after shithouse?

Show me another club which has come down from the second tier in recent years which has floundered in the third as long as we have.

There isn't any except Portsmouth.

Indeed. Not only have we been badly run, we've been almost uniquely badly run. There is no way you can dress up the fact that McCabe is an ongoing disaster for this club, and all the Prince is is the fat Shelley Winters character going down with the ship.

No they weren't. Wilson had a poor track record, Weir was a rookie and Clough had never won a league promotion. Before that, Robson had a poor record, Blackwell had a poor record, Speed was a rookie. Adams had a patchy record.
Not one of them could be considered top notch.

You do realise that tomorrow morning when you wake up will be as good as it gets.
Got me bacon butty and catch up with Blacklist series 3 to look forward to and shooting with my sons later. My emotions might revolve around United but luckily for me my life doesn't

We've changed managers. Changed players. Common factors are the owner(s) and the Board. Changes here are more problematic but necessary.

To be fair Collins has been here 5 years and consistently been part of a team that's regressed. Not just his fault but needs binning.

He's been one of our better performers for most of the season IMO.

Fingers should be pointed elsewhere first, again IMO

Just the one bottle of wine for me tonight mate although I had two excellent pints in the Borough Arms ;)

Got to be summat good to bring back from a crap awayday :(

lets fuck em off n just go booxing :-)

I think Phipps gets too much stick to be honest. Yes he is the Chairman but he admits he knows little about football and I imagine the big decisions aren't made by him. In a way I feel a little sorry for him because he seems to have been pushed out there as the mouth piece for the club when the real power surely lays with McCabe and co. I actually think he does a lot of good on the PR side of things but my gut feeling is that he is pretty much helpless when it comes to the major problems at the club. I could be wrong of course but he seems more a spokesman than someone who makes the big decisions
He essentially gets paid oodles of quid to manage the Twitter account. I've no idea what else he does day to day but if he has any influence its not surprising we a) cant keep players - "hey its in Jamie's best interests he leaves" and b) cant fucking sign anyone.
