After what he has achieved for us, is it about time the fans showed a bit of respect for the man that has transformed a very poor team with players without confidence to one providing better football, better teamwork, better results etc. Or is he still going to suffer the Pythonesque "What has he ever done for us" treatment?

I think it's about time that we show him our appreciation, perhaps starting on here and then vocally at the grounds that our team play.

yup, i think you're right.

i was very dubious at the start of the season, but he seems to have gotten the best out of what looked like a team of very average players :)

fair play to him.

liked him from day 1, always striked me as a bloke who said the right things in the first place.

He's a cool customer with the press and if you notice, he's not interested in taking any of the plaudits what-so-ever, which is nice considering what the swine have to deal with. He's got us playing a style of football that he promised when he was appointed, he's got ched playing how he should have been from day 1.

most importantly, he's got me going every game (on a students budget) Top job so far.

So when does McCabe get credit for hiring him? ;)

when he does a load more things that we need him to do - such as give him a bit more wonga.

I wasnt keen on the appointment. That said he has done he most amazing job, not least in transforming a depressed club into one with optimism and a rosy future. I am thankful to him, top marks all round.

Save the 1st blast of Danny wilson's red and white army til the pigs game;)

I never disliked him he always came across as a decent bloke, i only questioned his record. He is doing really well but what will people have to say if we don't sell anyone and don't achieve promotion?? The job is only half done so at HT well done DW keep up the good work.

If this is anything to go by, 90% of the fans should now be behind him.

Of course with our fans we're only a couple of defeats away from a turnaround and it'll probably take promotion before the fans are vocal towards him although the right result on 26th February might change all that.

I suspect that if we are in a similar position to now going into the derby, and we win, his name will be sung round Hillsborough with the maximum verocity.

So on one hand people are criticising the singing of BT's name and the other we want to sing Wilsons name...

Can honestly say I was open minded about his appointment.

He's doing a very good job and deserves a share of the plaudits along with the players.

Speaks well in interviews and doesnt get carried away when we win or lose.

The players clearly respect him and he shows them the same respect. Cant fault him.

Always backed a manager, never shouted for one out, because even if they are shite my role is to support, not happy clap but support. I think DW is part way through transforming OUR club, things look good again and I for one now look forward to games, after what seemed like ages, and the squad hasn't changed that much.

Oh yes I know he's got a score to settle with our very unpleasant neighbours, some bad history there, bring it on!!!!

I admire his professionalism and selflessness. Could easily have come out and criticised our car park brigade, slated the knockers but no, he's proven them wrong (so far) and just gone about his business quietly. It's all set-up for him now, keep the results coming, and a win at the toilet over in S6 and I'm sure the 6,000 travelling Blades will finally give him what he deserves. Cannot wait!

I criticised McCabe for the appointment of a man with an average record but didn't care about his previous employers being over in S6. He has done a brilliant job, professionally and it is so refreshing to hear commentary such as "the blades tore through their opponents with some exceptional football". Things we haven't heard for years to be honest.

His handling of defeat and victory are the same, modest and professional (you watching Warnock). His dealings in the transfer window within the confines he has have been excellent also. His motivation of existing players has been excellent and he has us playing some good football. Assuming he gets us promoted then he has achieved what we need him to. All credit to him and credit to McCabe for getting the right man in. More credit to McCabe as it wasn't a crowd pleaser that he brought in but the right man for the job.

Full credit to the man. Must have been hard to take the job knowing that a lot of people (me included) did not want him. Somone said to me on Sat that perhaps the reason we have not chanted it is that we have not really needed to lift the team this season and most of the time we have been clapping the good football been played.

i admit to being very sceptical on the day he was appointed, and yes i went down to BDTBL, not to protest his appointment but to hear mccabes reasons for hiring him and hear what he had to say and was as per not impressed by uncle kevin but i was impressed by the way morgs jumped to his defence and the way "Agent" Wilson handled some quite tricky and in some cases offensive questions, from then on i was more than willing to back him 100%.
and for the knockers, think on this IF we gain auto promotion how do you think our friends across at s6 will feel?
you will hear the gnashing of spleens clear to norton :)
carry on "agent" wilson on a job so far well done.

Chaps,

To put this into perspective, by-and-large the players are inherited by others unable to get the best out of them, especially Adams. Goes to show what a good job so far he is doing. The only caveat is that they are playing in a lower league against poorer quality to the Championship, but he can only manage what is put in front of him.

i like the guy.. he has class.. he just quietly and efficiently gets on the job.. it isn't all about him.. he doesn't criticise referees and officials and has us playing the best football we've played since 2005..
as for the bt chant.. people are upset about that because it disrespects those already on the pitch

Difficult to imagine how any manager, all things considered e.g budgets, could possibly have done any better.

Nothing short of a minor miracle in my humble opinion when I was expecting a mid table consolidation type year.

Well done Danny and McCabe for the foresight you have shown (for once) - We all know it can not have been an easy decision for either of you at the time. Proved thousands of people wrong !!

Love his work at the moment and like others have mentioned, Iwill always support our manager. Maybe just maybe there's a slight reservation in those who would normally chant his name because of the hurt that has happened over the past few seasons not because what he once played and managed the wendies.
