Does anyone actually think we will stay up?

No joy in the Premiership...
Media not interested if you're not one of the big 6. I wish they would fuck off and create their European super league. Maybe English football would be better without them. As for the Blades things can only get better even if we get relegated its a learning curve which we can come out of with more nous. UTB

If we don't beat West Brom, we're as good as gone IMO.
29 games left, we've realistically got to win at least 9 and get a similar number of draws to be in with a shout, that's avoiding defeat in nearly two thirds of the games we still have to play. Based on what we've seen so far, it's looking like a big ask

To date we have 1 point from 9 games and only 4 goals.

We will need a bassett esque miracle to stay up.

The only thing going for us is that there are 3 teams that are equally terrible. But as things stand, we look doomed.

I spent quite a lot of the FaceTime watch of yesterday’s game talking to Trig (Jnr) TY about the 90/91 season, he was 3 at the time, talking about how we got very close to Christmas before we picked up three points and how if the league had started then, we’d have finished runners up to Arsenal.

Struggling to remember 30 years ago, but I don’t think I ever felt quite so negative during that season, but scoring goals wasn’t a problem, we had Deane, Agana and Bryson. We did however leak goals in a way that we tend not to these days, regularly losing by 2 clear goals.

I have no recollection of what it was that clicked. It wasn’t immediate after the 3-2 win v Forest, but we picked up a few wins before the seven match winning streak. I don’t see a Bassett-sequel miracle either, but nor do we need one, seventeenth would be enough and we aren’t playing that badly, I’m going for a skin of the teeth survival.

It might seem overly defeatist, but I thought the writing was on the wall after the Fulham game if I'm perfectly honest.

What I'm becoming increasingly concerned about is us becoming an absolute laughing stock and potentially the worst team in PL history. The Derby fans must be loving our plight at the minute!

I'd at least like us to show a little bit of fight rather than going down with a whimper, which let's be reyt, is what is looking likely to happen.

Always happy to be proven wrong though and I'll support Chris and the boys regardless.

To be fair, Fulham looked good enough to pull of a draw yesterday, didn't happen (penalty miss), but they were battering Everton at times.

If 35 points is the target for safety then we require 1.2 pts per game here on in.

On this form does anyone think we will get to 20 points?? Genuine question, who will we beat?

I was 10 then. I remember it well. What a turned around of a season. Well with Burnley currently beating Palace we still have to start winning to achieve 17th, which hasnt happened yet.

Was fairly confident we would a few weeks ago, but I am now 60/40 in favour of us going down.

The players just don't look up for it, and I am losing confidence in the tactical approach.

I say this as someone who has rarely, if ever written off our chances under Wilder in the past.

Sky odds as of this morning

29 fixtures remaining.

8 of those games are against teams that we can't go toe-to-toe with.

A further 6 games are against sides (Southampton, Leicester and Newcastle) whose managers had us completely sussed last season, such that we didn't lay a glove on them.

That leaves 15 other fixtures. 9 of those are away from home where we have become the softest of soft touches with 2 draws and 8 defeats in our last 10 winless fixtures, including a current run of 6 consecutive defeats.

It's certainly looking tough...

If we continue to setup the same way we will continue losing games narrowly for the rest of this calendar year, then when heads drops we might start taking hammerings.

If we get enda/amapadu back instead of bombscare Lowe and Bryan then we will look 10x better

It’s not whether we’re good or not it’s whether we will take 5 more points that those above us

We win that match last night we turn a corner

If we do we will stay up 50/50 for me UTB

I think Bryan makes a better LWB than a RCB, his delivery is pretty good. going forward, when he did, he looked ok. Its the defensive side of the role that he cant get to grips with.

We say it every week but god we miss JOC and Enda on the left.

I said after the Chelsea game we had to win four games this side of New year to have a fighting chance of staying up and two of those most likely were the games against West Ham and WBA.. we lost them both.

I cannot in all reality see us winning four out of the next seven which we would have to do so no I cannot see us staying up now.

It's the 2nd worst start ever in the history of top flight football. Not just Premier League history, top flight history. To stay up from here will be record breaking and it's unrealistic in reality.

that cross from Bryan to Burke was immense... probably the best weve seen this season

I know it was pre season but his crossing in the game against Derby was great. For me thats the position he should play with Either Enda or Ampadu at LCB, obviously with JOC out. Not sure whats wrong with Robinson though.

Out of interest what odds are we to stay up now? We must be almost certain to go down I guess? (With the bookies I mean).

We're 5 points off safety with 28 to play. We know better than anyone that teams have got out of much worse spots than that (West Ham were 8 off safety with 8 to play).

It's going to be incredibly difficult but it's still possible.

Bet365 make the bottom four's chance of relegation as follows

Fulham 77%
WBA 67%
SUFC 65%
Burnley 48%

Wilder was asked about Robinson after the game and said he’s simply not done enough. Pretty telling when Lowe and Bryan are getting in above him.

I’d actually have no issue with Bryan starting LWB over Lowe, but Osborn should be in above both of them.

I've been 100% convinced for weeks now that we'll be relegated and last night's showing did nothing to convince me otherwise!
