Just over 24 hours until we kick off against Derby at pride park, so after an international break for Mr Speed to have a good look at his team, do you expect more of the same?

Eg Long ball, 4-5-1 negative formation, around 3 shots on goal, monty ertl and britton in the midfield, cresswell on the left.

These are just a few things that frustrate me about the way we approach away games and i hope at around 12.30 when i see the team this won't be the case.

couldn't you have put this in the 'Derby vs Blades' match thread Dave?

Why have we got a load of new players in for the manager to pick from?

It's going to take time, and personally I thought there was already a look to play a different style of play.

You need to learn some patience Dave,

Yes and No bob i am looking at the full 2 weeks he has had to look at the team, It will be the first away game for Jordan and calve as well as maybe Yeates in the first 11. I am just hoping we don't see negative football and maybe players in there correct position.

I expect we'll be set up to get at least a point which is understandable away from home, and especially with a new manager.

Derby have some decent players and they move the ball around quickly. It's entirely reasonable to have monty and ertl in the middle.

As well as Britton??

There'a piece on the OS talking up Yeates, maybe he'll get a start and Cressy will play upfront.

3 defensive midfielders in the same side is not very attacking.

It's a tricky away fixture. I'd rather us not lose, but i would concede that a midfield comprised of those 3 is a bit unbalanced. Assuming that we're playing 4-5-1 who would you have in the middle then instead?

shame.. now you have taken me into 'no comment' territory

United will line up in the usual 4-3-3 with the same suspects in midfield. The idea will be to attack when the opportunity presents itself but not go all out. Derby are in a similar situation to ourselves at the moment and will be cautious as well so I expect that game to be very balanced with both sides trying to counter attack. Derby are very nervous at home and we should be looking to score early to take advantage.

As for our all round play I expect to see the same as the last two games, with United attempting to keep it on the deck more but not to the detriment of conceding so lets not throw our arms up in the air the first time someone knocks it long shall we? :)

I think this has draw written all over it and I'm predicting 1-1. If we have any ambitions of top 6 we need to go to places like this and win. If we're looking to get ourselves into the top 10 then a draw is fine. Anything less spells trouble as Derby are a very eratic side with little confidence and a thin squad.

Cool mate,

Pretty much the same as mine, except that i'd use Monty for Quinn.

One thing i do know is what will be will be and i will get behind whichever 11 he puts out, but with Hulse gone i think they are a lot weaker.

The team suggests it could be same old
Simonsen, Jordan, Nosworthy, Montgomery, Ertl, Britton, Evans, Calve, Cresswell, Ward, Bartley.
Subs: Morgan, Bogdanovic, Yeates, Taylor, Aksalu, Quinn, Lowton.

I trust you'll be dropping this negative approach for a while now DP ;)

>1-0 to us.. the revolution starts here
