Having reviewed this and other threads, plus United's recent policy regarding strikers, I've carried out some finite analysis and concluded that a new striker would have to fit the following profile:
a) He needs to cost less than £5m
b) He needs to be satisfied with <£10k pw so as to maintain squad "harmony" (i.e. not to upset Billy & Leon)
c) He must be at least 30 y.o.
d) He must be capable of scoring 15 goals per year
e) He has to accept he's only back-up for Leon and Billy until they are at least in their forties
f) He must be better than we've already got even though he's only coming in as back-up
g) Last but not least he must be pacey so he can get on to the end of Enda's hopeless punts into the box (sorry, I mean so he doesn't squander all those easy chances our excellent wing backs provide him with)
No wonder we can't fucking sign anyone.
Ameobi fulfils a lot of your critera. Probably falls down on d f and g. I thought he was okay today in a crap team.
