Some people talking about having to offload players if we go down?
If players like Berge, Egan, baldock and JOC want to go then fair enough let them move on but if not I doubt we will need to as we have parachute payments and all new contracts had a relegation clause in them. We will subsequently have a much stronger team than last time we were in the championship and a few additions together with some of our development players to boost the numbers should see us in a good position.
But then again if we carry on as we did against Man U and have that little bit of luck I can see us catching the likes of Newcastle and Brighton

Now were going on a journey
And staying in the prem

Staying in the Prem is way beyond us now. I think we'll lose one or two, not because we have to but because they'll be interest & the players will want to go.

I don't think the Prince will spend big money on a promotion push. We will probably have to generate our pot through a sale or 2.

Hi Stegosaurus here,

Hope we can pay some team to take Ramsdale off our hands

I don't think, (or certainly hope) that we 'need' to offload any of them.

We've been prudent with wages and signings, perhaps to our own detriment, but not mortgaged our future of staying in the Premier League.

This is why it's short sighted to just say we should have signed just offered the likes of Antonee Robinson £50k a week, signed Deeney on £70k a week etc

That happens and the entire wage bill moves up exponentially, the likes of Egan, Fleck and O'Connell aren't happy getting 50% of the fella next to him etc and it snowballs. There will always be disparity amongst pay, but we've seen with Lundstram what happens if its seen as unfair.

Then if you get relegated it becomes unsustainable and you then 'need' to offload players.

That being said, we may still see a couple leave but not because we have to offload.

Can't see any of our players being top of another Premier League teams shopping list.
We'd have had more trouble holding onto them if we'd done well again.

So our players can try to get themselves sorted out next season and come back stronger or they can go and earn a few extra quid sat on the bench at another Premier League struggler, where they might end up relegated again anyway.

always a chance that teams promoted from the championship will be after our better players i think about 3 might go but the club should be putting a minimum price tag of 20m plus on any of our big players

Well if we have to shift a few lets hope we do not do what we usually do and give them away for next to now't.I think we will have to go through a rebuilding faze probably introducing a few young'uns and buying a few good young'uns .We do have a few who have not been able to step up to the prem and also those who will attract bids from some still in the prem but we must hang on to our promising young guys from Shirecliffe. They are our future if we get back up because there is no way we can compete in the transfer market or on the wages front.

I don't think Norwich have sold many if any players have they? I agree with others that I think we have been sensible in terms of our wage structure and have not signed anyone on massive wages so would hope that we can rely on parachute payments to fund the wage bill (hopefully with players on relegation clauses). We will probably have to trim the squad a bit but there are a few hangers on who won't be missed (e.g. Rodwell) and we will need to bolster midfield. The fact that we have had such a bad season means there are unlikely to be many clubs coming in for our players. A season in the Championship should help players like McB, Brewster, Lowe, Bogle, Berge, Osborn, Mousse to mature and gain more experience and hopefully enable us to get back to the PL. It is noteworthy that all 3 teams relegated last season are in the top 6 in the Championship and Norwich are 7 points clear at the top.

They sold Lewis for somewhere in the mid teens and Godfrey for 30. The fee for Lewis probably represents peak value and he only went after Liverpool unsettled him and Godfrey had Rio Ferdinand as his agent touting him round everywhere this summer. So they recouped a significant amount of money from out goings but didn’t sell unless the offer met their value and the player wanted out.

Egan & Baldockwill be subject to bids
Lunny will leave

That’s 3 potentially to go.

JOC and Berge will depend on game time following injury but probably Jan bids.

That’s 5 over the season.

Freeman is seemingly out of favour so that’s 6.

Baldock definitely. Egan, I'm not sure. Not many PL teams play a back 3 so I'm reserve judgment. But Baldock for me and obviously Lundstram is a goner...

Berge and JOC will be the following summer...

Tbh we need a rebuild because some players are going, some players aren’t in the managers plans but on the whole we’ve not been good enough. I expect after the dust has settled and we know who’s staying then transfer targets will be based around up and coming players from the championship this time we‘ll be in a better position to attract some of them.

Berge and O'Connell seem like the two most obvious candidates but I think their injuries this season will probably put off any suitors.

Other than that, I don't think we 'need' to sell anyone for reasons already stated. Possibly Egan will receive a few offers, and maybe Mousset will go back to France, but can't realistically see who else would go.

Sure United will be trying to offload one of the reserve senior goal keepers (Moorse, Verrips or Foderingham) in the summer or send out on loan next season to reduce wage bill and Wilder wants to sign any players in summer

i think if a good offer for baldock comes in we will let him go weve got bogle an 8m signing to go in there anyway and burke can play rwb as well

How much longer is left on Moore's contract. I thought it was coming to its end, wouldn't surprise me to see him here till its end and gone on a free. Not sure who'd come in for Foderingham based on his showings for us. I suspect Verrips is top of the list in terms of keeping as he's at least got the most room for development and seems to be at worst the same level as the other two.

As for the rest of the squad there will most likely be outgoings. Cant see Jags carrying on another season, Rodwell seems to be non-existent so surely wont be offered anther extension. Freeman is clearly out of favour and I'd assume will leave, but if not wouldn't be the first time someone has worked their way back in from the cold under wilder. Coots found himself on the transfer list early in Wilder's tenure and look how that worked out.

I wouldn't be surprised to see one or two more leave but I think the fewer the better tbh. Despite our struggles this season we look to be building a strong core of young players with a lot of potential to develop together into a strong team.

Yes I am aware the leavings I've listed are fringe players but as this season should have shown, fringe players are as important to have as your starting 11 over the course of a season.

Baldock is a dead cert, but Bogle is a younger version, so hopefully not too big a loss?

There is as much chance of Berge turning out for us in the Championship as hell freezing over.

Unfortunately I’ve got a feeling that we are going to see a mass of players go.

Cheap wages + Proven in EPL + virtually every team from the top championship upwards is richer than us = players leaving.

teams will be licking their lips at the prospect of our talent on 25k a week (minus relegation clause 😬). There are at least 5 players we own which could improve or bolster the squads of next seasons other 14.

Feel we will try to convince players but it wont happen, cannot deny them PL opportunities and wilder made clear - if u dont want to play for us, leave.

outgoings:
Berge (25m), JOC (15m), Egan(10m), Baldock (4m) Lundstram (free) Mousset (free - mutual agreement)

I'm with you, they're known to be on fair money, which for established pl clubs means cheap. Klopp is after a centre half this January, why he's not in for John Egan I don't know.. But shhhhh...

Can see somebody coming for oli mcburnie.. He ticks a lot of boxes, whilst not being prolific you can bring him on when 1-0 up to hold the game at thier end of the pitch..

We will make money on all sold that we've bought with the exception of brewster, but that will come later after a year in the champ as our first choice..

Nobody will come for him this close season.

JOC is my only worry tbh. But given his injury I can't see anyone coming in for him till at least the Jan transfer window, if he refinds his previous form that is.
Then again I've invested heavily in him of footy index, so such a loss will be a win anyway.
