I had more chance of playing than getting a ticket today. Listened on radio, didnt sound too troubled by them and Evans goal sounded like a beauty. A few points I would like eye witness blades to clarify.

1. How many times was Porter offside?
2. Was Evans asmuch of a rocket as they made out?
3. Was Williams awful? he sounded it

1. How many times was Porter offside?

Plenty of times, and a number of them when he had a view all the way across the defence. Don't know how he does it.

2. Was Evans asmuch of a rocket as they made out?

Decent finish, but not a rocket, I was already at the advertising boards waiting for it to hit the back of the net.

3. Was Williams awful? he sounded it

The whole of the left hand side weren't very good to be honest. Midfield poor again.

1. Several - Possibly his best contribution to the game too!
2. His goal you mean? Or did he mimic a rocket whilst on the field? The goal was excellent, a powerful strike in the bottom corner from an angle. He had a couple of other 'rockets' close to succeeeding too. The only bloke looking vaguely like scoring in our team today.
3. Not a great performance from our Marcus, but not totally awful. I'm a bit off Williams lately, his understanding with the equally frustrating Quinn is reminiscent of two strangers in ear muffs in a black tunnel trying to find each other.

Up to us scoring, the abysmal Spireites could well have snatched an undeserved victory. Our failure to put them to the sword earlier was worrying, they really are a poor team. At 0-0 you got the feeling they might scuff a lucky one but Ched's great strike gave us what we deserved in the end.

Cheers lads. Sounds uninspiring but ill take the points. Shsame pigs and MK won, theres only one thing for it now, BOOZE! Have a good night all.

Any views on McAllister?

I thought the game bypassed him a bit and he looked weak again.

Another poor performance from the entire midfield for me. Movement was poor, support play poor and poor at helping the defence.

Danny Wilson had a different view on McAlister on him in his interview, strange how football is all about opinions.
The 3 points were vital seeing that the unclean and MK Dons won.
A long way to go yet.

Good three points, but an uninspiring performance. McAllister worked hard and did use a lot of energy, but the midfield just didn't get involved anywhere near enough for me.

If Lester had played most of the match rather than Clarke, we'd have lost.

What would you do about our midfield at the moment Foxy?

I thought both central midfielders played ok today. Quinn was disappointing. But the game was won by the best player on the pitch

McAllister did ok, no better nor worse than anyone else in the huffing & puffing that went on in midfield, it was that sort of game.

Interesting that DW saw him as a better fit to replace Monty than McDonald. A sign of the direction we are taking in the coming future, two scuffers in there rather than a stroller! If it brings results, I for one don't care.

I suppose it depends what he's sent him out to do. Maybe his mission was just to occupy the opposition and distract their attention.

from the sound of RS Mcallister got better in the second half and looked brighter, not to say he was fantastic though.

Glad to have some clarification on Porter as from the sound of it on RS he was 'abysmal'.

Pleased we came away with three points-just as we scored I was thinking it was going to be 0-0. It's also nice to win a scrappy game, unlike what used to happen last season.

Don't agree. Lester is injury prone, not fit and the yard of pace he had was lost a couple of years ago. He would have dropped deeper to get the ball as their midfield was poor.
Our defence wasn't really trouble today as Lester would only have troubled us by his constant diving
The game was poor today(the wind couldn't have helped) but apart from a couple of dribbles from their right winger, they rarely troubled us.

Play below average, win one nil in a local derby,BT maybe in to replace Porter, and 4 points off second........can't complain too much

I'm afraid some people won't contemplate anyone replacing their local hero. Read any comments about other midfielders with that in mind.

Dmac got better as game went on. Barely noticed him in first half. Definitely worth another run out for me, anyone but Monty though and I'm happy! At least Dmac looks to have half a football brain. Delighted he got a game and a win.

Fuck me Pinchy (not literally of course :-)) even when Sir Nick doesn't play you can't resist a pop can you!
