Chaps,

Is it because it's cricket weather and Joe Root 236, Bairstow 186 have given Yorkshire a first innings lead that am really disinterested in our games on Friday and Monday. Or, is it because my enthusiasm and interest have been drained from me by the events of the season?

Is anybody else feeling as lethargic? Or, should I go and see a doctor?

Youre always interested when were shit ,its when were good you disappear.

My enthusiasm for a 3rd trip to Huish Park and back in as many years had more or less expired, but I've now combined it with some deliveries for work (It's not my job, but I *may* have volunteered :D) and will be there again to see our joyous success.

Not disinterested and I'll be there on Fri & at Wembley if we make it, but:

I'm not confident we are capable of beating Yeovil
If we do, I dread the prospect of playing Brentford at Wembley (their pace v our woefully slow team on a big pitch spells disaster)
If we do manage to go up, I expect we will paper over the cracks and not bring in the 6 or 7 players we would need to compete in the Championship - and face another season of disappointment.

Part of me thinks it would be better to stay where we are and start again.

Uninterested, perhaps. I'll leave being disinterested for the officials.

Judging by shorehamview 's thread, there's plenty that 'll be disinterested...

Me, well i spent a good chunk of extra-time at wembley last time around sat on the shitter reading the guardian's MBM report. It was much more interesting than the game....

Only missed Ipswich (a) and Preston (a) out of our 16 play off games in recent times, but it's looking like I'll be missing both this year. Would only be able to make at best 2nd half on Friday and just wondering is it worth it after the garbage we've been served up at the Lane this year. If it was only a tenner would probably go for 45 minutes football but O'Sullivan-Trump Friday night is looking a much better prospect (haven't got Sky Sports anymore).

A no show from me for both Yeovil games will probably guarantee a Wembley play-off final for United.

I am more interested in the start of the Giro (cycling) than the Blades games this weekend. I am away all weekend (had a trip planned to Edinburgh for ages) so luckily I cannot make either of the games. I'd have probably given in to temptation otherwise and I am thankful I did not have the choice. Not excited in the slightest though. Just feeling really apathetic about SUFC these days.

I couldn't be less interested. We'll lose at home 2-0 and will lose at their place aswell. Everybody will be as disinterested as my come Monday. Bring on the Giro D'Italia - best sporting event of the weekend.

Not much use unless

  • Barnsley beat Huddersfield
  • Peterborough beat or draw with Palace
so fingers crossed...

If Wednesday, Barnsley and Peterbrough all win and Milwall get at least a draw, Huddersfield would go down with 57 points!

Does anyone know what the record number of points for a relegated team is?

The big sporting event for me this weekend is the League final between Kilkenny and Tipperary on Sunday. I'm looking forward to a couple of sessions in the pub on Friday night and Monday afternoon, and there will be some crap football on in the background.

I think come 7.45pm tomorrow we'll all be interested plus take a lead into Monday and everyones tune will change.

a mate of mine is on that picture ,he wasnt impressed when i sent it him. He was telling me there was loads of trouble between the grunters ,sparked off when a young girl in fancy dress as a police woman was kicked and spat at by a group of pissed up pigs 'far a laugh' . How classy.

I reckon you're right i said that was it after the Crawley game but see off Yeovil tomorrow and like many others i'll be scambling around for a final ticket

53 (for the 2nd tier). So the record will be broken regardless this year. Barnsley are currently set to be the team with the highest points ever relegated in the 2nd tier. It would be hillarious to see the Pigs go down on 55 or 56 points and incredible to see Huddersfield go down on such a high number as 57. I haven't looked at it for other divisions, but would be surprised if a team went down with more than 53 points.

I knew my pointless analysis would come in useful somewhere (see attached).

That's just from the 2nd Tier though, I meant as a whole. We were relegated with the equivalent of 54 points in 1980-81. That's not another record we hold is it?

The only thing I have less interest in than the playoffs is Joe Root and the cricket. Saying that I will watch the games on telly and then go to Wembley if I must

In fairness to Ollessendro, the 2nd tier is the only one that provides a like for like comparison

The top division has had varying numbers of teams in it

The third tier relegates 4 teams, thus the highest total is likely to be higher than if it only relegated 3,

and the 4th tier relegates 2 clubs in recent times and 1 before that...

True. But I would still like to know if anyone has beat out 54 points quivalent. It would be exactly the sort of record SUFC would have....

Apples and pears spring to mind. 54 points 'equaivalent'. What's to say circumstances would not have been different had it been 3 points for a win. Plus we went down as 4th bottom in 80-81.

Southend went down 4th bottom with 54 points in 88-89 from the old English division 3. So they have a greater claim to your record than we do!?
