I'm sat in Cancun Airport taking in what has just happened at Bramall Lane. I'm so sorry for all those that went and had to endure an all new low. I'm one of the lucky ones.

In all the years I've followed United I've never known such a long enduring malaise/decline. What we are seeing is the result of a decade of mismanagement which shows no sign of ending.

Those running the club are 100% accountable for what is happening. Not the manager of players, they're just the latest saps being paid to try and dig us out of the mess upper management have got the club into.

That's me done. Not in terms of the forum, I've always got time for fellow Blades. The football can do one. Joke club.

It hurts less and less
It does - and that's what's worrying.

When are the fans going to grow some balls and rail up against McCabe? He's the bastard that's behind all this and I can't believe how some folk have the nerve to defend him. Everything done on the cheap. Fucking tinpot wanker he is. Just wait and see if Wilder gets any more players in before the deadline... "Well, we tried..."

You just know the "we tried" line will be dished out early september.

Your statement has no logic.
How can it be the board?
The board picks a top rated manager, pays a big salary and backs them with the highest budget in league 1.

The logic with some our fans seems to
Show ambition, bring in top rated managers with records of success, spend money means failure

Maybe we should follow the Wigan, Barnsley, Walsall model.
Do everything on the cheap and bring in untested managers and players.
Is thst what our fans want?

I get the impression our board could appoint Mourinho and sign Messi and Ronaldo up front
Then if we struggle with those two, it would be "I knew Messi was past it and Ronaldo can't motivate himself
In league 1, pathetic signings, sack the board".

Now if we had one of the poorer budgets in league 1 and was doing a Coventry.
Seeking all our best players and bringing in free transfers and loaness.
Then I would agree the board are poor but whilst they are supporting the manager with big budgets
Then at least we have the odds in our favour.

How do you know the result? Its only about 6pm there. We haven't even kicked off

So true and so worrying, don't want to reopen the booing debate but at the final whistle non prolonged booing, no chants of "you're not fit to wear the shirt" etc. Apathy is setting in.

Very true.

This is the scary thing for me, I used to get so annoyed and frustrated whenever we conceded. Now I expect it every time we play, I just accept it as part and parcel of watching United.

Sadly this seems to be the opinion of most of the players too. Watching the game last night there still wasn't the urgency in the 2nd half that you'd expect to see.

Whenever the ball ran out of play we still took an age to get it back in. When Southend had it we should have been running ourselves into the ground to try to win it back, to make amends for the first half performance, but it just wasn't there. Only time I can recall a player genuinely busting a gut to win it back was when Chapman lost it, then spent the next 20 seconds sprinting to win it back. Not great when it's an 18 year old having to try to instil a bit of passion into the team.

Not doing the bring back Warnock bit but one thing you could bet yer house on under Warnock was that if we were losing or drawing at home the last 10 minutes would have been a shit fest of attacking football at all costs. Excitement and entertainment until the 90+ minute.

Last night it was us who kept getting caught ineffectually upfield (zero shots on target) and them who had us outnumbered in their attacks.

Patrick Suffaux Disbelief is right! i can't believe you were sat in Cancun Airport worrying about Sheffield United. My concerns wouldn't have stretched beyond birds, beaches and booze.

Cancun is clearly wasted on you. :)

Bit pointless focusing on all of that when you're leaving and trust me, I don't worry about them anymore. Worrying doesn't come into the equation.

I remember Leon charging back to clear a ball for a corner, bloke beside me wanted that he was defending better than the defenders. (The bats buzzing about the Kop were defending better than our defenders).

I'm usually quite circumspect about football, but I'm properly angry about the management of OUR club at the moment.

It's in yer blood. Once a Blade always a Blade. I saw us go down to the 4th division, but I still went. Things are dire, but they WILL get better. Only problem is I cant say when. :)

I can, when, when, when. I can when all day

Bullshit.

Sorry Mick, thought you were talking to me.

Agree completely. I too went to the 4th Division. Saw the brilliant Colin Morris entertain weekly. Had fabulous times at home and away. In many ways it remains the outstanding memory, doesn't it show how far we've fallen?

I used to work with investments. What goes down goes up etc. If the Blades were an investment they would be classed as a dog fund. :)

The whole farcical with Wigan i.e agreeing fees, wanting fees for other players...not letting them know the availability of players etc etc just sums united up!

The club is at the bottom of league one...we have had many mangers and they have all been classed as "failed" - the common denominator in the free fall is the board! wake the f##k up!!!

I think it's a two way street this one with Wigan . Believe it or not it ain't always the blades fault . Wilder is endless on the blower with managers . Bit of kidology going on from Wigan on this one IMO .

Players will come in , fuck Wigan Casino Atheltic FC
