Paul Coutts horror injury against Burton on November 17th 2017. I was in the away end and it was only at half time I realised the seriousness of the injury when the photos of the tackle went online. We won 3-1 to go top, but the atmosphere was flat in the second half as we realised the impact this would have on our season.

Coutts injury was a shocker and it certainly had a negative effect on the players

I met some friends in the pub afterwards ( not football fans ) and they were all talking about United doing well and being top of the League

I just said "our seasons over"

I think we were better then pre Coutts injury than we are now

I was in one of the home ends at this game. I was queuing up for food at half-time and saw the replay on the monitor and it looked shocking.
All in the past though - it's not healthy to dwell on these things - now we have the new improved Coutts!

As an aside, I think that Fleck was more effective playing alongside Coutts, it allowed him to get forward more often while Coutts orchestrated who received a pass, enabling us to be well balanced and possibly more threatening when attacking. None of which is to suggest that Norwood is a lesser version of Coutts, just a bit different and therefore we will adapt to his play as he will to ours. So far well pleased with Norwood, think we got a bargain in the current transfer climate.

Ouch.
