Directions to Oakwell??

Since i reckon alot of us are going on the train, i wondered if anyone who had been before had directions to the ground from the station?

Barnsley railway station is about a ten minute walk away. This station is served by trains running between Sheffield & Leeds.

From the train station turn left away from the town centre and head towards the bridge that the dual-carriageway runs over. Go under the bridge and turn left up the slip road and then take the first road on the right and head towards the Metro Dome leisure complex at the top of the hill. Oakwell is now clearly visible. Thanks to Ian Ambler & Bryn Williams for providing the directions.

For anyone who wants them.

Earliest train it lists departs at 13:57 and gets to Barnsley at 14:12, you can look for earlier times if you so wish

Astandard day return will cost you £4.90

It's really not far from train station - you'll just be able to follow everyone else. Head out of the station and under the flyover rather than into town

I'm getting there about 12 and meeting a dingle from work to go and have a drink, hopefully coppers won't be there and the locals won't be too bad.

If I wear me flat cap and Kestrel no-one will notice

EDIT - Think there's works on the line, you'll have to get the train at Meadowhell.

Doesn't look like it! I should have realised we were at home tomorrow because then I wouldn't have skipped college last week, then I could have skipped this week instead.

Excellent, the best bet would be the metrodome leisure centre thats where away supporters normally go, i know of a few other pubs but south yorkshire's finest will not let them open, There is also a bar in the North Stand (but I its the clubs/police decision if it opens or not. Just keep well away from town centre
