In the 3-3 draw against Reading. Direct from a corner at Oldham in Sept 1987Did Mark Dempsey score a few? His stats shows he scored eight times in his couple of seasons here, I have a vague recollection of him taking set pieces near the box.
And when was the last time we conceded one?Howdy all. I may have let one completely slip the net but when was the last time we scored a direct free kick? The last one I can personally remember was Fleck vs the fowls but even that one was rolled a bit before it was struck!
Didn't MGW hit the bar from a free kick against Reading in Slav's last match?
Edit - Yes he did
Of all the weird stuff that’s happened at the Lane this season, one of the weirdest is letting Norwood and Hourihane, who have not scored a goal between them, do all the long range and set piece shooting. It’s bizarre.Agree with everyone saying it’s extremely rare to score from a direct freekick but I also have no idea why Gibbs-White hasn’t taken many/any since that one. Based on a sample size of 1, he looks like he actually has an idea of how one might try and score from such a situation.
I’m confused, was it once or twiceTony McMahon, twice in one game. Once
That's a bit silly, you might miss a goal. Obviously, not for us, but still..We are appalling at any set piece play …. I actually get up for toilet deals etc. When we have one now

I would have tonight …That's a bit silly, you might miss a goal. Obviously, not for us, but still..
Didn’t Bob Harris score a couple too?Tony McMahon, twice in one game. Once
Noticed we 'try stuff' again now after weirdly scraping it when we had some successful set plays under wilder and knill at first. As is pointed out direct free kicks are rare ( as are corners) so using them to try stuff makes more sense to me...
