Saw this at Chesterfield market, £195. Looks like we've been gazumped agee-an.

(If the forum existed in 1978.....)

Some 17 year old that Harry Haslam has been watching in Argentina apparently, £200,000 though not sure we can afford that what with the board and all, and whether he's worth it.

What do people reckon, worth a punt?

UTB
Waste of money - we need someone who can go straight into the First division and make a difference

It'll never happen , foreigners playing in english leagues just don't seem a good fit,let alone United blazing a trail !!

Sad news. Amazing player could have been a Blade.
Only in S2.

Makes you wonder if Maradonna had signed for us. would we have been relegated and ended up in div 4 a couple of years later.

Yes, we would have

He'd have been so many light years ahead of Sabella, who in turn was light years ahead of the rest of our team that it would have been disastrous.

Worst thing is it would have been even more disastrous for him because he'd never have been the player he became.

We'd have offloaded him to Birmingham City or somewhere that enabled us to get our money back.

Maradona would have lost 3 or 4 years of his career and probably never ended up at Barca or Napoli

I think the opposite would have happened. That type of talent can't be stifled and Haslam would have let him use it.
DM would soon have been sold to them up the M1, and from then on Man Utd or Arsenal and the like. Then Barca and Italy.
