It might be music to all our ears that young Diego De Girolamo is back in training after a long lay off with injury. Before he got injured he looked very well and got us all excited with his confidence, pace, skill and trickery and overall there was a real buzz about the lad.

Anyhow would it's been a full 8 months now and he started light training at the beginning of this week. Cloughy told the press that he won't under any circumstances be rushed into things before Christmas due to the severity of his knee injury and that we can expect him back early 2014.

Does this indicated straight away then that Cloughy knows what Diego is all about and that he instantly has plans for him? We all know that Cloughy has a reputation for breeding young talent into his squads and Diego definitely fits his bill.

What do we as fans expect from it all? It's all a little deja vu to Millers return to fitness last month. We were all excited and he has come in and made an impact but of yet is to hit his full form again. Do we expect to see Diego involved when fully fit? Do we see a first team place for him within this newly looking squad with it's new management team?

What you all reckon folks? Opinions welcome.

If Diego regains full fitness and it's a big if as with this type of injury he could easily breakdown again and he continues in form he showed for Italy U-20s he will be sold in the 1st available transfer. I can hear McWobblegob already "his agent got to him" "can't stand in his way" "500k was good value as he's only played 20 1st team games" "it has allowed us to bring Michael Brown back from Leeds reserves".

He has to prove his fitness but undoubtedly has the talent to push through. I'm delighted he's back.

I share Ghandi's reservation that he will not play many games in an SUFC shirt. He is destined for things bigger than we can currently offer.

But we shall see.

He will be a good option for Clough to have available once we are safe from relegation. Probably won't be risked any sooner.

It looks as though Clough definitely subscribes to the "if they are good enough, they are old enough" theory which makes a refreshing change from previous managers.

I just hope he gets his head straight and takes his career seriously and doesn't get lost in trappings of this ridiculous hype.
If he showed half the dedication that Miller demonstrated during his time out, there might be something to get excited about.

Surely we won't sell our better plays in this golden new era.....

I think he plays in the hole like Baxter, which may mean he doesn't get in the starting XI that easily.

I just hope he isnt rushed back.

Im also glad that CLough is our boss & Diego will surely get a chance under him!

i think this guy is special. i remember when he came on. he knew exactly what he was doing and looked like he'd been a first teamer for 10 years.. a bit like Kyle Naughton did
