Did the NON Ghost goal actually do us a favour?

Hawkeye wasn’t working against Villa which cost us a goal and a possible 2 extra points,which in the end would still have left us in 9th,so no position change and no extra money.
However the ghost non goal gave Villa an extra point which kept them up by a point and sent Bournemouth down the the Championship instead.
Because of Bournemouth going down we have been able to buy Ramsdale back to the Blades for £18.5m,young,British,potential England squad player,something we wouldn’t have been able to do if they had stayed up.
Possible Brooks sale this summer also for approx £35m giving the Blades approx £5-6m from the sell on clause.
Two possible situations in our favour that wouldn’t happen if Bournemouth stayed up and Villa went down

I get what you say but I am in the camp of 3 points v Villa would have given us the confidence to push on perhaps and maybe we wouldnt have lost v Newcastle and Everton and got a Europa League spot? We will never know will we but if we get Ramsdale it will be good

Maybe it has helped us get Ramsdale back and some cash back from Brooks. Had Villa gone down I doubt we would have been able to land any of their players with some of fees they have been asking for their players. If Brooks does get sold then that does make up for us finishing a bit lower than we wanted to.

Other issues that crossed my mind had we also got into the Europa League:

• More squad depth and thus spending more money on additional squad players. Not so bad pre COVID but in this new COVID world we are seeing some silly fees for some quite average and unproven players.
• Less time for our players to rest as the qualifying rounds have already started.
• Having to play abroad behind closed doors without fans.
• Playing matches on Thursday nights and our PL games being moved to Sundays. An annoyance regardless of the pandemic but I like Saturday league matches, we already had enough matches on Sunday last season.

If it was a normal season with fans attending then it would have been great for us to qualify. Qualifying with the way things are at the moment would still have been good but not as special since we the fans couldn't enjoy it properly. Possibly a blessing in disguise and this isn't to say I am not disappointed we missed out.

Sometimes a negative situation can turn into positive one. I still want to see these Hawkeye images from that ghost goal though.

We don't have wolves clout. We would have had to add 10 to our squad just to play these games. Far too soon for us . In 3 maybe 4 seasons on prem cask input maybe but as we are it would have stretched us to breaking point.

We must have the only fan base on planet earth that actually want to achieve nothing, no wonder we've been given nothing for a hundred years

Want to achieve lots but we have to be realistic . We've climbed 50 league places in 3 years. We have by 10 the smallest squad in the prem
We are not blessed like some with a boardroom full of billionaires.
We have to be realistic . We need to confirm our status and build from the bottom up
Money dictates our strategy more so in this league than any other in the world.
We will progress under Wilder but we have to accept may take 2 or 3 seasons to get the depth of squad we need
Don't want to be like Wednesday have one league cup win then go down again
I want us to push the top 6 on a regular basis . That to me is success
9th this season is way above what we realistically could have expected.
54 points this season Lets do 64 next is our goal

Had the Europa been a straight knock out we could take our chances and had a go
But in its current format It can add 24 to 26 games to a season.
It proved too much for Manchester United with all their resources
In reality it probably cost Wolves a CL spot
The competition is just ridiculous in scale
