Not seen any replays yet but a couple of images floating around twitter would suggest he sold it well with little, if any, contact.

Anyone sit on the kop /family stand / pointless corner bit who got a conclusive view?

We have got to be the most honest side I've seen this season.
That's all I'm saying.

For me, the pass to him was over hit, there was some contact and he went down and made sure it looked like more of a contact than it was. So no, not a dive but he made it look worse than it was.

I'm sat directly behind the net about a third way up and had a clear view of the lunge on Flecky and no it wasn't a crunching tackle but more of a glancing touch which is all that is needed to send someone flying.

Good decision by the ref and a definate penalty.

When you watch the video there was definite contact but he had started to go down before his leg was caught. One of those ‘penalty and a dive’ situations.

Exactly this. not a dive in the sense of cheating the referee more a case of helping him make the correct decision anyone who says he didn't make a meal of it though may want to rematch with out the red and white tinted specs on. 100% penalty, 100% made a meal of it.

He enhanced the contact so some simulation was used, the thing is though if he stays on his feet we don’t get the pen because most refs are fucking atrocious and don’t know how to play the game.

I agree with this, and to further back up the point, Baldock got pulled back down the wing in the first half but managed to stay on his feet and then didn’t get the free kick, whereas if he’d gone down he’d have got the decision.

I hate diving, but if refs are unable to give a foul unless you hit the deck, what are you supposed to do?

Did Fleck "enhance" his fall? Yes, probably.

Was there sufficient contact to warrant a penalty? Yes, almost certainly

Should a penalty have been awarded, bearing both factors in mind? Yes, definitely.

I wish Baldock would be as easily knocked over in certain situations as Fleck is

That De Bock practically strangled him at one point yesterday just outside their box and he still stayed on feet (not sure how). Ended in a Leeds goal kick, should have been a Blades free kick the ref just needed a bit more convincing

Sit in the middle of the kop and we thought it was a bit soft.

I think there was some contact, but Fleck made a meal of it.

Was a definite penalty. Check made the most of it but he ensured we got the penalty that it was. If he had stayed on his feet it maybe wouldn't have been given. He made.sure the ref had to give it and we won the game be use of it. Well done to Fleck I say.

Contact or not, it was a dive. If it was the other way round we’d be up in arms.

There is contact on his trailing leg if you care enough to pay attention to the replays. Stone wall penalty.

Although the one on Clarke was more obvious! But refs rarely give 2 in a game like there is some sort of quota

Contact made. Foul.

In the box. Penalty.

If it’s on the halfway line do all you saying ‘no foul’ think it’s a free kick? Of course you do!!

He wouldn’t have gone down on the halfway line. That’s the point.

This bollocks about contact made being enough for a penalty needs looking at. It’s a contact sport.

Remember Bromby staying on his feet in the game v Everton? Afterwards the ref said if he'd gone down he'd have given the penalty. Don't imagine being honest was too costly though, if we ever get to the Prem again we're going to have to play the game, might as well get used to it now.

Happened to Akinbiyi too in the coldest match I've ever been to at home to Crewe in the promotion season.

Pen for me even if he did make sure the ref knew there'd been a foul.

Who really cares we gong the penalty and won.
For me fleck played the situation perfectly, dive exaggeration or want other way calling it .he did what I expect of a sufc player.
