Development Squad

A few posters on the managers Q&A thread are raising questions about the working relationship between Micky Adams and John Pemberton and his thoughts on the development squad.

My understanding is that Pembo has no involvement with the development squad, that is down to Mark Smith. This is where the issue may be!

MA and Pembo may share the same philosophy and have a decent working relationship but if there is a stage between the academy and the first team that isn't working towards the same goal what then?

what makes you think Pembo doesn't have control over who is brought into the Dev squad?

It's just my interpretation of comments from someone I know that knows Pembo well. From what I was told he had no knowledge of Philliskirk or the two irish lads. I stand to be corrected though FB if you know better.

That would be interesting, as I understood the development squad was Pembo's. It would also be worrying as I don't rate Smith at all.
