Reading the comments on Nathan Thomas signing, some Hartlepool punter seems to suggest we're scouting him (I think):

Rodney looks like a decent prospect but I can' see us going for him with him only playing a handful of games.

Unless the plan would be to sign him as a prospect and immediately send him on loan somewhere.

He's only 18 and will most likely be added to the U23 squad initially. He's already played a few games and took his goals v Doncaster well so he obviously has something about him so why not take a punt for few grand in case he comes good i.e. a smaller scale version of what Everton and other Prem clubs have done to lower league clubs inc Utd?

That's what I think we'd do, and at 50k I'd be well in favour of that. Send him on loan to a decent Conference club or anyone in L2.

Be good to get one over on Wednesday as well if he was a success.

Don't think anything will happen with this though, he'll just be one of many players we're keeping tabs on.
