Devante Cole

You dont see loads of players with pace and a solid if not spectacular goal scoring record available for relative peanuts.

Suspect his career to date suggests he’s by no means the finished article but would be worth a low risk punt.

Do wonder with wilder saying he hoped for 1 perminant and the rest loans might mean we have moved on from Cole.

Just look at the improvement of DCL now he's in and around good players. Let's not forget, as good as Fleetwood were last season, it's Fleetwood Town for fuck sake.

He's got 12 goals this season. Managed 8 last season. He's scored more and they're not as high up the table. I think it could be the prime time to purchase him.

Hanson on his way to bury, frees up a spot and wages
Paddy madden signing for fleetwood, should allow Cole to move to us. His contract expires in six months and subsequently can see him coming for a small fee.

Fleetwood already have other decent strikers so if they're signing Madden in January that indicates Cole will be leaving this month.

Fleetwood have just announced signing of Paddy Madden, with Hanson reportedly going to Bury I think we might have already agreed something with Fleetwood for Cole.

I don't see why Hanson leaving means we'll automatically have another striker coming in. Hanson never even gets in the squad, and that's when Evans isn't fit.

Looks as if he'll be coming in shortly. A journo on Twitter reckons his agent is confident he'll finally get his move here this window. Seems to have chosen us over Brentford. Thats how i read it anyways

I will just put my tin hat on.

Hanson has to go because his game is not what we play or aspire to play. I don't see many players of his style in the Championship, and such as they are (Dave at Pigs) only come on as a late impact sub. It's a bit of gamble taking out the tall man looking out for the knockdown because that's an option gone, but if the replacement fits into the style we want to play then that's fine by me. The only player I see in the top flight playing this style is Andy Carroll and Peter Crouch and they are exceptional players in this style.

Evans will never create what he had in the one glorious season. I think CW now appreciates that and having been a slow starter because of his injury and then a non starter he is not looking to him to do anything this season, he simply won't be up to the speed of this superbly fit team in either fitness or speed of thought. He struggled early on and will struggle if he comes back. I maintain as I always have that it was an unnecessary gamble destined to failure, but hey ho, maybe it got bums on seats or muppets onside. I think CW has placed him firmly on the back-burner leaving the striking options as Billy, Leon, DaDon and Brooks with Lavery maybe. Even Lavery will need some sort of preseason to get up to speed and as he hasn't been trusted by CW entirely since he has been here, he is another in danger of being removed.

I see Cole as a replacement for Evans/Lavery (after all he scored more than them in League 1 and he is younger, faster and can be coached in the right direction) and Billy. In time he will compete with Donaldson. God knows how you replace Leon. In all my years I have never seen anything like such a resurrection. I may be wrong but I see Cole as someone who can run onto a ball as well as lurk and poach. Bit like Billy! GLTTL.

Agree - Out of Contract surely means now is the time to get him.

Cant really think of another potential signing with as little risk. Get him in he either does the business or drops back down again to L1 with plenty of suitors and we are no worse off. Would add some much needed pace too.

Apparently Brentford and Millwall are also interested, If Brentford are interested it tends to suggest you are looking at the right players. One of the better recruiters in the league especially when it comes to getting bargains from the lower leagues.

If the Cole deal is true does that mean the leonard one is dead? CW said one permanent three loan? I appreciate this is written in stone but makes you wonder

Got the raw materials just an idle fucker according to a Bratfud fan.

Agree his attitude has been questioned in the past.
I suppose it’s growing up with millionaire parents being the son of Man Utd star Andy Cole.
He’ll probably be quite spoilt and used to having his own way.

Wilder has a great record at dealing with lazy under performing players. He’ll bring him down to earth and help his career.
Just look at Leon, who has been reborn under Wilder.

Be a great signing one to work on if he joins before Saturday he can't play as he is cup tied sorry if this has been mentioned earlier in the thread.

Speculation does seem to be mounting re Cole from Twitter admittedly. I'd love us to sign Cole, and Wilder did say that he was moving early.
