If we don't concede then we don't lose (penalties notwithstanding!). Simples.

Sadly, though, our defence has had more holes than a teabag recently. Given our lack of attacking options we need to make sure that this is remedied and we keep it tight, then we'll have a chance. Concede goals like we have been doing and we're fucked cos our strikers aren't up to scoring three to win a game.

Fully agree. Even with a depleted strike force, the midfield is capable of us getting (at least) two goals, as has happened the last couple of games.

Work on the defence Danny :)

Mind you, it was a pretty safe post. If we'd got hammered you could have said you told us our defence has more holes than a teabag!

My view for the second leg - the key to winning is we need to score more than them. But we might not.
Bet I'm right.

My point was a little less simplistic than you make out. When Ched Evans was scoring goals for fun we didn't worry so much about conceding because we always felt we could outscore the opposition. With a decimated strike force, as we have now, we can't rely on scoring lots of goals any more so we have to stop the opposition scoring at all and hope we can nick one at the other end.

Danny Wilson had clearly read my post before last night's game and acted accordingly. :)

The 2nd leg will be different and I would expect to seem him play 4-4-2 although still being more cagey than we have had to be for most of the season. He will also, hopefully, tell Matt Hill to stop doing his Nyron Nosworthy impression. o_O

We can still win the tie by stopping them scoring, not scoring ourselves and winning on penalties. We could also lose that way too of course! The final could go the same way. In short we don't have to score at all in normal play to win the play offs but we do have to stop the opposition from doing so.
