Yep. Apart from Gilchrist being, shall we say, reckless with that one challenge that saw him go into the book, we dealt with most things really well

Very good tonight! Looked assured and cooper adds so much confidence and calmness to that back line.

11 out of a possible 15, three of our next 5 at home, playing two newly promoted teams, Could well match that form. Green shoots.

Apart from a dodgy back pass and a couple of aimless long balls, souttar was excellent as well

I think souttar has made a big difference at the back. We look much more assured with him there - particularly compared to Robbo

We need to keep it up. Defences win promotion

It's absolutely amazing what having a calm, commanding goalkeeper can do to the defence in front of him. Cooper looks the real deal and it's bringing out the best of the defenders in front of him. Steal of the century at £2m!

We've finally got an excellent defence, fingers crossed they keep fit because the backup isn't great

Think it's important to remember it's a very new defence. They will only get better and better as a unit.

Noticed that the fullbacks, Gilchriest and Burrows started just OK, but they are improving each and every match.

Agree.....I've noticed Ahmedhodzic looks a much better player with Souttar in the team.

Think it's because Ahmedhodzic was our tallest defender, so felt he needed to control our area aerially.
However Soutar towers above Anel and he's taken control of our defence, this has massively taken the pressure off Ahmedhodzic.
He's thrived having Souutar there and Anel is playing in a much more relaxed style and even having the odd break going forward with the ball.

and of course another massive factor helping the defence is having a cool and confident keeper behind them....who is able to easily receive the ball to ether his left or right foot. So when our defence are under pressure they can play it back to Cooper. Where as back passes to Wes were always risky.

That centre half pairing would not look out of place in the PL. Really need to sign big Harry permanently.

Cooper,Anel and Souttar, the best security firm in the championship💪
Absolutely solid

I think Wilder let slip that he would be keen to bring in Souttar permanently in the prematch presser.. when he said some loans are for young players to develop and some like Souttar are for a view to bring in permanently.

Hull had 16 corners, 42 crosses, but only 1 big chance.

Considering set pieces and balls in to the box have been our weak points for some time now, the entire back 7 can be bloody happy with their performance last night.

Absolutely. The guy is really good. In iffy situations one of the few Brit 'keepers who punches the ball away to comparative safety. I thought he was almost MoM last night insomuch not one mistake. But weve seen him before in the FA cup and he was excellent in that game. Made Ramsdale look stupid.

A great signing and good luck to him.

. . . . and a back pass to Grbic might have had og written all over it.

Think we both said after his debut vs Wrexham that we think we could sign him on a permanent deal so it wouldn’t surprise me if we did! Fucking hope so anyway 🤞🏼
