It's now all about McCabe and Birch. They have to sense that the current feeling amongst thousands of Blades is more than a little blip in a life-long love affair. Blackwell has to go.

Blackwell has to go or saturday could be ugly you have Neil Warnock ready to prove Mcabe was wrong to get rid 20k+ united fans singing one neil warnock and billy sharp

put speed incharge for the rest of the season then bring in o'driscoll and have a team of

McCabe........McCabe.........oh yeah, I remember now:fishy:

I did tell you we should never have given him the job,but you young'uns just don't listen :D

Nowt wrong with giving Blackwell the job then, he saved us from relegation and took us to the Play off final the following year. Pretty faultless and if a few players performed at Wembley who knows we may be in the Premiership now.

But the hear and now is things need changing, just to give us a bit of passion or something to look forward to.

Perhaps the players had the will to win sucked out of them by KB sticking the worst excuse we've had for a striker in recent years up front on his own? They do remain culpable along with the manager though.

I believe from that point on, he's lost the dressing room and with it, the Blades battling spirit.

To be fair he didn't have any other options from memory. I don't think Beattie was as bad as people made out though, he made poor decisions (PNE PO Away Leg) but would drag defenders all over the place and would generally lead the line quite well - I accept he was woeful at Wembley mind.

Please exuse my language and it isn't vitriol directed at you, but........

He was fucking shit!

Oh, and used later in that game were Ward & Lupoli, so there were different options to set about that game from the outset.

Lupoli was shit though wasn't he Kev? Give me 1 of him to 10 Craig Beattie's.

So did I mate. I well remember being in a tiny minority. I think it was a case of anyone will do. Next one is a massive decision. We need to bring football back to BDTBL. It has to be Coppell for me, with SOD a close second.

Problem was, there was almost nobody available at the time who could have come. We were all underwhelmed, and he did better than Sornob, so for the time, it worked. I don't believe it works now though.

Once again though, who do we get? I see O'Driscoll as being a loyal man, so unless we offer much, much moolah (which we won't) he ain't coming, so who then?

Ward was suffering from the dreaded hamstring injury, he was one of our best players in the run in so i think if he was fit to start, he would have. I know he was on the bench but that was probably more out of desperation more than anything.

Lupoli - good player, but not for England.

Beattie seems to be doing well for Swansea!

Ward came on at 58 minutes, so managed over half an hour. Personally I'd try and win the game in the first half, but what do I know?

Lupoli was a decent player who never got a fair crack imo and he came on in the 82nd minute. Our other change (Hendrie) came on in the 85th.

Hendrie & Ward = The New Suffo & Santos!

I knew that, just wondered if you did....:fishy:
