Deano has just confirmed on radio Sheff that he wants to play in the Premier League at the Lane next year.

Says it is down to the two clubs to sort out the financials but he wants to stay. I know he seemed to say the same over the loudspeaker yesterday but confirmed again today.

This has to be the number one target to get sorted first.

I really hope they do come to a deal so we can keep him. This guy could be a potential legend at the club and would be great to get him now whilst he his young and also riding high on such a tremendous season.

Having a good keeper like him just gives defence great confidence which would be needed next year.

"Seemed?" I'd say there's wasn't much room for mis-understanding of what he wanted.
First things first, Man Utd need to be realistic in what they ask for in regards to a transfer fee and then the same for him in regards to wages.

Agree, although Deano is still young and has loads of potential.
Let’s not forget that he’s for from the finished article and still has loads to learn.
If we get his at a good price then keep him, he’s possibly not quite good enough for the PL
But I’m sure he’s only going to get better each season, in a few years could be one of the best keepers in the PL.

Exactly why I don't think I'd look to loan him, purchase (will a sell-on/buy back) or we look elsewhere.

How much could he cost realistically ?

He's been on loan to Shrewsbury and us, £5 million should be enough

They will want something ridiculous for him and we'll say no.
Maybe a first refusal in the future might swing the deal

Us going up could probably clear the way for ManU to agree another year long loan. Deano can then continue his development at a club where he’s settled and liked but this time at the highest level. I think that they’ll want to make the final decision on his future with them at the end of next season and wouldn’t have thought that they’d have an issue with him playing against them (cus it’s just little old us ;)

All depends on man utd wanting to sell.

I would guess they would like to loan him back to us again next year to see how he copes in the PL

He'd cost somewhere between a Sam Johnstone (£6.5m) and an Angus Gunn (£13.5m). :)

Man Utd have a history of producing these good young keepers loaning them out and then selling them.cant see them asking for more than west Brom paid for Johnstone, how much was that 5 million ?

‘How much do you want for him?’
“£10m”
‘Cheque or bank transfer?’

Its simple. And yeah, we do have that kind of cash.

Well De Gea just does another howler. Way it's going, I can see Hendo as No 1 next season at Old Trafford :(

It's getting to be too often to be just one off errors. Still think that they will give Henderson another year away though.

Has to be permanent, at least if the loan player is an outfield player he could be dropped out of the squad to make way for another. If it’s our no. 1 were only ever going to have space for one other.

Sign him up and we won’t have to worry about signing a goalkeeper for the next 10 year, unless we sell him for more than we paid.

Didn't someone on here say he'd already signed an extension on his own for next season.

Unrealistic valuations help no one. We're talking approximately £15 mil given who the selling club is and the fact that they'll know we are flush with money.

My take is a loan, that way, dependent on how we do next season, should we get relegated we're not lumbered with a contract that obligates us to pay staggering amount s of money, and if we loan, then should we do well and continue as a Prem team, then we'l be in a very different ball-park financially. Maybe then consider to buy, but a second season in the Prem means we'll be far more settled financially, so able to make decisions based on knowing we've the resources to match our ambitions.

wouldnt mind him back on loan, a good keeper but lets not make it a Brayford situation. Theres better out there

We can only loan two players from premier league clubs. We nee to turn Henderson into a perm. Sort manure with a good sell on clause

Like who? That realistically you would like to sign? We have kept 21 clean sheets this season and Henderson has played a big part in it. Henderson has been brilliant and still a long time off his prime years yet as a keeper. The lad will be class in years to come and if we had the chance to sign him I 100 percent would be happy with this. If we was to buy him now and he has a good season in the premiership as well he would be worth 2xs the amount we probably get him for now. With his best years still to come I think this would be a brilliant signing if we was to pull it off.

Trouble is they won’t loan someone to a Champions League rival...
