Would be worth paying him £1m a year to wash the kits so Villa would fuck off and sign their own targets.

When did it become a rule in football that only one club, at one time, could express an interest in, or attempt to buy a player?

Shock horror, the players we are interested in also happen to be of interest to other teams in the same division as us.

Is this a new development in the history of football?

As Wilder said - other clubs are lazy recruiters.

What he really meant was Dean Smith is a clueless cunt that just copies him as does young Parker.

Give the OP a break, I feel hes coming from a place of frustration.

Its like that odd girl at school with the dark hair up in a tight bun with thick rimmed glasses that no gives a fuck about. Well you have a thing for her but the best looking kid in school just happens to swing by when she takes off her glasses and lets her down and she goes from Olive on the buses to Meghan fucking Fox! Next thing you know he's in like Flynn and fingering her round the back of Morrisons!

Aston Villa is that Twat!

It’s all paper talk bollocks. Nobody has a fucking clue who has offered what for who until the clubs involved actually announce something. Nothing has been announced regarding these multiple Villa ‘highjackings’. It is just online ‘sources’ such as The Star trying to manufacture some click bait bollocks during the only time of the year that anybody gives a shite about what they say as they either hope it’s true or enjoy getting fucked off about it.

I honestly don't think smith has anything to do with their recruitment except maybe a yes I can use him
This would certainly explain why at points he’s played four fullbacks across his defence. Seen plenty of Villa fans questioning that on twatter. Also explains last summers spending spree just resulting in the same one dimensional “give it to Grealish” tactic. Square pegs, round holes.

You think that in that eventuality, Aston Villa bidding for the same players as us would be the causal factor?
Exactly, it wouldn't be. If Villa want to copy all our player interest there's nowt stopping them.

If we can't match what they offer a player then that's not Villa's problem.

Not long to wait and see if Smifffffs purchases have improved them, only just over 2 weeks and we’ll be playing them.

What people need to remember is that due to this new fangled internet thing, reporting has changed. The days of just listening to the radio, watching tele, or buying a paper to see what was happening with signings, we now have numerous websites reporting all sorts of shit and rumours. Some of these might be official media sites such as the star or sky sports and some are a site set up by some sad bastard with no friends and never coming out of his/her bedroom but whichever it is, all they are trying to do is to click on their sites whether just for the buzz or to get more views and, therefore, increase advertising revenue opportunities.

The bottom line is that the only people who truly know who they are trying to sign are those involved. Ok, an agent might try to leak a few things but it's still only those buying who know all their targets.

And with regard to other clubs chasing our targets, I'm quite pleased because it means we're now shopping in the same markets as some other premiership clubs which has to be a first in the last 30+ years.

Still jealous after all this time

Villa have comfortably more financial power, no contest if they want someone we're after.

Until we can offer more it'll keep happening.

But Fulham would jump in and pay him 2 million a year

Except they want you to pay to read it if you’ve already clicked 5 times that week

Yeah, important to remember that all media (including Sky!), are endlessly spinning stories. Hardly any reliable sources out there's. So to repeat, yeah, nobody actually has much idea what's real or not in terms of transfer gossip.

Be a good signing ,personally think arsenal would be crazy to let him go he's been one of the best keepers in the league since he got his chance

If Dean Smith staff are reading these post, probably not, I have an insider wbo vows me to secrecy about a Blades target. whisper " connor salmon". Yes we are in for him, honest. Don't let Villa know.

Perhaps it’s all the opposite of what is in the media....

Perhaps Wilders frustrations this week when he talked about lazy recruitment was all part of the game

Perhaps were leaking names to the media that we could conceivably be interested in, but aren’t and it puts everyone off the scent of the actual targets....

Or alternatively, we have a huge list of targets that were in for and were approaching many clubs about many players like villa, Leeds and Fulham are.

Recruitment approach under wilder has been nothing less than solid, some work out and some dont, but we’ve never failed to recruit.

last year we moved quickly and got several targets in early. Osborn, Robinson, Freeman and I think Mousse all came in and we were constantly breaking the transfer record. McBurnie followed on later

This year we got Ramsdale in early, presumably an easy deal for all parties to do.

Other players, clubs and agents will be more difficult so take time

And if they choose more money at a club in Birmingham or london, then it may say more about the player than we realised.

We want players that want to come to us.

Accepting that l live (exist) in the land that time forgot, could someone enlighten me as to whom Villa have gazumped us for ?
I'll be generous & give you they (allegedly) 'did us' in signing a back up midfielder from Brum last season (who's turned out for them less that Freeman has for us)
