I've read a few times that his best seasons were a while back but that isn't really the case (see below)
2010/2011 - played 41 games in team promoted from League 1 - Captain
2011/2012 - played 43 games in team promoted from Championship - Captain
2012/2013 - played 37 games for Brighton, 4th place in Championship
2013/2014 - played 29 games for Leicester 1st place in Championship
2014/2015 - played 12 games in premier league
He's been a fixture in teams at the top of the championship or a premier league squad player for the last 4 seasons having lead Southampton out of League 1 the year before that. Leicester fans seem to rate him as a good Championship player.

On the face of it he's a great signing for a team in League 1 but so far (only 3 games) he's not really shown he's the man to turn our season around.
