Managerial merry go round is nothing unexpected to players and they will jump at the chance to join a great club with a huge potential income and promotion success.

I know we've been awful so far this season (down to the manager/coach and his baffling system and unfathomable set-up) but football clubs can turn very quickly if the change is made quickly enough.

Agree with this. We need to act now. 2 weeks to sort a new boss out

How do we convince players to sign when it's obvious the manager is going to be sacked very soon? Going to be extremely difficult to beat other clubs to signatures when they don't know who the new boss will be.
Do you think any of the recent signings joined because of Selles?

In many respects Selles reminds me of Bryan Robson. The team he has available is so much better than the results produced and we are massively underachieving.

Its like Bryan Robson all over again and we had some top championship players then such as James Beattie and the lad from Villa (from Dronfield i think) on loan who was a centre half who ended up playing at Chelsea for years. He couldn't get a tune out of the team.as he was hopeless. Selles is the modern day Bryan Robson. Just like then, we could appoint any ordinary joe as next manager and we would look a different team (Blackwell took over from Robson and we suddenly became unstoppable and just missed out on the playoffs). We need to ensure we actually quickly though and don't let the season drift.

It so disheartening. Players might be inclined to sign if they know a decent managerial appointment is imminent.

I was thinking this myself.

But then we signed a few this week and it's not like this one game was a huge tipping point

Being merely a coach I don’t think the impending removal of Selles would unduly affect our ability to do business on deadline day. Personally I would still like to see Matos come through the door. But I also think we still have a collection of very good players and managers will be queuing up to put this team on the straight and narrow, especially now they won’t be directly following Chris Wilder

Gary Cahill. Hardly mentioned as one of our best loan players but he was on a different level.

we convince players to sign because it's obvious the manager is going to be sacked very soon? ;)

Tell them the only way is up and we will be appointing a proven manager whose playing style will accommodate them

Ideally also run the name by the new manager for his approval

And offer them a lot of money

Bosh

Bindon and Barry. Sadly
One of the many reasons to sack Selles is that these two were clearly his picks along with Soumare. Bindon and Barry aren't at the level we need and he doesn't rate Soumare for whatever reason.

When Warnock was speaking pre-match he said how he was telling Bamba and Holillet to wait until he had a club (before he joined Cardiff) and he would sign them. When we interview new managers we should be asking who can you bring in ASAP along with you.

Which club is that, then?

Conversely though it might encourage the potential want aways to stay.
Hopefully.
I always wonder if certain players are told of a wind of change well before any "leaks" to the press/those ostensibly in the know.

Though it was said last season that Wilder swung the minds of players like Cooper and Campbell to come.

After the disaster of the previous PL season some players would need convincing.
