Just seen this on twitter.

Part of me thinks - "please don't!"

The other part of me thinks that if it's actually done well, we could play it in full prior to Kick Off like Leeds do with Marching on Together and Liverpool with You'll Never Walk Alone.

I've said previously to play Annie's Song in full rather than just a couple of chords before they kick the ball - that's very cringe!

Please no

I'm generally against orchestrated chants but at away games there are often 2 or 3 GCBs and it can sound a bit naff. Def need something to start it - it would help if most joined in. The bloke next to me talks through it!
On balance I think I'd leave things as they are

Not completely against it at full time when the full version of Annie's song is being played which I guess could be made more relevant

What he needs to do is record it first so we listen to it, I just think of garyokeys Tom hark rip off 💩

Agree with this. We can't sign it off based on just an idea.

I'd never heard of this guy until about 1 hour ago. He seems OK. A bit in the Sam Fender / Andrew Cushin / Jamie Webster mould.

Speaking of Jamie Webster. He actually did a cover of Liverpool's Allez Allez Allez song so I imagine Daz's idea is a similar vein to this:

I think if the guy wants to record and release it to promote his music and/or maybe as a charity release then yes why not.

But no chance it should be getting played instead of the original. For many blades the jon denver version holds a lot of meaning (it was played at both my grandad and uncle's funeral) and despite your complaints mattbianco1 I actually like the start of it playing for that reason :)

I used to watch Hamburg play a lot. They have like 3 club songs that are catchy as fuck.

They wheel out two lads on acoustic guitar before the match, who serenade us with Hamburg Mein Pearle, it’s like YNWA as it gets everyone swaying with scarves.

Then the teams come out to HSV Forever. Which is like a chant. Again, gets everyone going.

The cream of the crop is when they score. A modified version of Scooter (Hamburgs favourite sons) - Always Hardcore blares out.

I genuinely hate shit like this, but it really works and adds to the atmosphere.

If we can replicate anything like that, i’d be all for it.

Not for me, but I would like the intro to Annie’s song dropped before we start singing. Sure it could be done without it . As far as I am aware other clubs don’t do an intro before there song.

The problem you find with Sheffield folk is that every suggestion will receive a NO reply

And what you’ll find is very few are willing to raise their head above the parapet and make a suggestion.

Basically most people in Sheffield don’t like change.

Germany is so far ahead of England regards atmosphere and fan culture, so we should watch and learn.
Maybe we can implement something, at least try some ideas.

Sounds cringe to me. As is any anthem that's sung along to on the sound system (see Wednesday and Leeds). It's bad enough that we have the first few words of the original just to start us off.

It's a shame there's no obvious trigger we could use at kick off to start us all in sync. Like a whistle, or a kick off or something.
