We seem to have given up trying to keep some of our decent players. When we still try and claim we are no longer a club that needs to sell there best players.

we have many able defenders though

and £3m can get you one hell of a midfielder so im remaining positive :D

you pessimistic sods :D

Once again though you make it sound simple.

One player had a buy out clause, presumably agreed to keep him at the club.

The other may have decided to jump ship, one that many fans critisised.

I'm sure you know best though.....compared to someone like Robson.

Well in these days of over inflated prices £3mil will get you a half decent one.

So much for Jagielka having red and white blood running through his vains then if thats true Foxy.

First and foremost, he was a schoolboy at Everton and loves the club, the club being in a far greater position than the Blades with the ability to pay more money.

In order to gain his signature for an extended contract (and therefore protect our interests/secure his continued presence as a player) we had to insert the clause at his request that he be allowed to speak to any prem club that bid £4mill for him.

Looking after his own career doesn't mean that he doesn't love the club. He's certainly made sacrifices to stay with the Blades in the past which in this day and age are very rare.

Cant understand why we are selling Davis, he has pace and is more than capable at this level.

Personally think he'd have been a good performer with us next season. I'd suggest that Robson probably isn't too convinced on his ability and will have most likely been told about his attitude. He wasn't as popular in the dressing room as people think if what I hear is correct (seems to be supported by the "incident" with Akinbiyi)

Robson must have some players ready to bring in, hopefully a new right winger, creative central midfield player and a new quick centre half.

Its not looking good so far.

Think he will be, any new manager always reshapes his squad. McCabes comments suggest that Robbo has got some interesting targets.

Thats if Lucky stays.

More likely to stay if Davis goes, better chance of first team football.

i'd be gutted if Davis went though, he can do a job...and Derby are going straight back down:D
we should include clauses in saying if we get reinstated we buy them back for the same price:p

I can understand the sale of Claude to a point, but we should be looking down the country at Charlton, who set a price and didn't budge. I know the players we are talking about are absolutely different, but in the days of over inflated prices we should be looking to cahs in rather than just making a 500k profit.

Some rumours that Derby are still after Tonge and Monty.

Personally I think Claud seemed a liability. £3 mill seems a decent price for a player who was injury prone, and watching him was like somebody had put a football shirt and boots on a big daddy longlegs.

i dont disagree with you SV but what is worrying me is that instead of making good additions to the side, we seem to be selling when i dont see the need to. OK jags was a gimmy, but why sell davis? if even if we have got naismith coming in, the reports dont seem too good TBH and on top of that if lucky goes then we have lost three good members of our defensive set up

WHY!!!!!!!!!!

I wonder if we'll see more of Bromby this year too, he had a bad year injury/form wise, but he's proven himself in the championship before.

who would you have

Sharp, Naysmith
or
Jagz, Forte

i think its half and half so we will just have to see if davis replacement is better than davis :D

I wouldnt say no to Darren Ward to be hounest.

Although i still dont think we needed to sell Davis im sure we could of done more to make him stay.

I will be seriously annoyed if Hulse and Tonge end up going.

Good bit of business cashing in on an injury prone player who makes too many mistakes

Apart from the Pompey error (which to this day I still blame Gerrard) I don't recall him making any serious mistkaes.

DD hit the nail on the head with that!

Derby have called in football ambassador Craig Brown to try and save Claude Davis' £3m transfer from Sheffield United - he needs a work permit but did not play in 75% of Jamaica's games last year. (Daily Star)

so does this mean the deal has fell through

The 75% rule of playing in international games is a joke anyways.

Bigger club's are able to get away with it, where as the smaller club's struggle.
